I would be willing to bet one years posting on this site with anybody that wants it that REGARDLESS of the record this year or NEXT YEAR both Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy will be here.

You see I BELIEVE that there are people in the front office a lot smarter than some on this forum who see's whats TRUE and what is FALSE regarding this football team.

First of all no one in the front office gives a rats ass what the record was in '05 and don't hold Ted Thompson accountable for the miserable job at GM that preceeded him.

The talent on this club is off the charts better than what Thompson inherited in 05. Just ask Ron Wolfe. I wonder how many European caliber players he can pick out on this roster?

They are also aware of the learning curve and experience gained by ARod that will pay dividends in the future because he obviously has the ability to be one of the premier QB's in the NFL.

We've got the youngest team in the NFL with a first year starting QB and we lose a buttload of last minute games and everybody is running out of the building yelling "fire, fire," and all it really amounts to is some good old boys out back grilling some brauts and drinking a beer.

Chill out. These guys aint going nowhere.

I keep seeing people saying this i would like to see the evidence to prove this. After all we have had 1 YES 1 winning season under Ted Thompson so how is this team so great?
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Correct me if I am wrong..

but we are told that the reason Brett had such a bad time of it in 05 is because of the ROSTER, you know 3rd, 4th and 5th stringers?

Is that good enuff evidence???

I voted "Neither Should Go." I loved MM last year. Said nothing but good things about him. But this year, I'm wondering if there's a doppleganger in there and the real MM was eaten by zombies.

This year, he's failing to motivate. I don't see a Packers team fired up and ready to kick some ***. I see certain individual players fired up and ready to kick, but not a team. I don't think I need to explain the difference here.

The other thing, Ted Thompson needs to build both lines. Let's be honest - the only guy that is awesome on both sides is Kampy and he's someone Ted Thompson inherited.

That said, I still say neither should go. It takes TIME to build. It is year 4 for Ted Thompson and year 3 for MM. BUT, if we have a losing season next year, both should be on the hot seat. I am only so patient. I want results, and we've had enough time to rebuild. We should be seeing results soon.

The other thing I see which I completely disagree with most of the board here - Aaron Rodgers is fine. He's been wonderful. I'm tired of people using "we have a first year starter" for an excuse to be 5-9. It's no excuse, because Aaron is not the problem. The problems are:
1) The lines (both sides),
2) Motivation/Aggression/Determination
Ted Thompson needs to be held accountable for #1. MM for #2. '09, we need to have a winning season. Maybe some of you are content with seeing the Packers lose, but I'm not.

I will not change my vote. I will say, however, that after last night's performance, if Mike McCarthy's team does not have a winning season next year, unless there are some incredibly extenuating circumstances, I will chorus calling for him to be canned. If he can't show enough confidence in his quarterback to give him a chance to win the game, despite giving him a $65 million contract, he needs to go.

It never ceases to amaze me how shortsighted fans and commentators are. Last year Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy were geniuses; hell, Thompson won "Executive of the Year" award. This year people are calling for their heads. Few coaches are as lucky as Jeff Fisher or Bill Cowher to have enough time, through the good seasons and bad, to finally have some success. After one or two bad campaigns, most coaches are out these days. Few teams have the luxury of continuity.
