Clay Matthews and others reach escalators for more cash

Besides Matthews, four other Packers received boosts in base salary from their original deals:

OLB Clay Matthews III - new cap number to $4.91 million.
S Morgan Burnett - $1.323 million from $575,000, new cap number of $1.541 million
TE Andrew Quarless - $1.323 million from $575,000, new cap number of $1.368 million
OT Marshall Newhouse - $1.323 million from $575,000, new cap number of $1.36 million
NT B.J. Rai - $4.49 million from $4.09 million, new cap number of $6.595 million.

I'm going to assume Qaurless' only escalator was being on the roster.

I would say they have all earned it, even Quarless, who they must feel certainly has the talent to be worth that or he would be gone. It would be pretty safe to assume it is a roster bonus.
