Breno was a 5th rounder and he's been starting for 2 years now at RT on a decent o-line. Maybe the coaches gave up on him a year too soon or Campen just sucks that bad but he's turned out to be a decent pick.

The tackles in front of Breno in camp were Tauscher and Clifton as starters. Bulaga and the first round heir apparent for one of them. Newhouse who ended up on IR with Tauscher. Lang and Colledge were the back ups on the depth chart.
There really was no place for him other than the PS. It was a risk and it didn't pan out but since Seattle also released him in 2010 he clearly wasn't ready. By 2011 GB added Sherrod, Barclay and Datko.
Seems like there is always a player like this out there that needs some time to develop. You don't need any specific one of them. Just have the time to be able to let them grow into NFL players. The problem is when you have as many good players as GB has it is difficult to hide them on the roster and the PS is raided on a routine basis.
