30 days. That's the time limit on our fuel for SMALL ENGINES.

Throw ALL of it in your car, btw, if the car is 10 years old or less.

INCLUDING, incredibly the mixed gas. Use discretion here... your car's computer will compensate for your crap-gas in reasonable percentages.

It is the best way to get rid of it, but most are unaware and scared to do so.

And don't get me started on ice fishing. Sorry, Shawn, but IMO going outside in winter to fish through a hole in the ice is as crazy as DakotaT's politics is dumb.

One is out... not much left to it.. but it is out. I have some video of it.. but I have to spend some time to spice it together.. over 7 hours to get one out. 8am tomorrow onto the next.. the larger of the two with the wheeler under the water. Albeit.. it sounds like we might not be able to lend much of a hand as it sounds like there are a number of people coming to help with this one.. pulp truck and skidder.

Some select pictures..

Corky's Shack.. this one has a wheeler hooked on the front. Coming out tomorrow morning.. last night it was below zero here.. but the ice around the shack was only an inch or two, but the end of the day it was open water around it.. later that can be seen on video.

UserPostedImage

Our Shack, still under this morning..

UserPostedImage

The ramps that would eventually be dropped into the water and used to "lift" the trailer out. The ice to the south of the trailer (left here) was over 8" thick at a minimum. That allowed for lifting it in place of cutting the ice to the shore.

UserPostedImage

After several hours of cutting, spinning the camper and getting it chained and cabled up. There is a cable winch on the pto of the tractor.. I am reffing on the clutch to transfer more power to the cable deadman.. wasn't designed for this, but other than having to force the clutch to open further than designed.. and the pulley system.. it walked the unit up onto the ice, albeit in pieces.

UserPostedImage

The weight of the wood, insulation, that was water logged simply ripped that unit apart.

UserPostedImage

Ripped completely in half..

UserPostedImage

All that was left was to pick up the wreckage.. about 7 hours after the adventure begun.

Oh.. and it seems like most other parts of the lake the ice looks good.. coupled with colder air, there were several trucks on the lake this afternoon. I don't know that I would be out there on the lake with a truck when there are two shacks under water. Wheeler maybe.. but there are a number of shacks still out there.. just not on that end of the lake.

Now if you could get sunnies and bluegills, even crappies, at the grocery store, *then* ice fishing might make sense (assuming the ice fishermen sold theirs to the store.)

Still think you ice-fishers are crazy. Eating lake fish is cool. Sitting above a hole in the ice is, er, (deleted).

When she was only a few feet away, she could see a guy backing out of the store holding a gun at the people inside. She pivoted around dragging her little sister and told her that they were going back home instead of going to the store.

I think they hid under their bed for a while until they could tell mom what happened. 😄

Some of it was fresh. Some of it was frozen. At least according to P-N-S website.

To be perfectly accurate since you are one of the resident food experts, the $6.99 a pound was not perch it was cod. 😊 As I implied I was just hanging his chain. Too much work to be taken literal. But then food connoisseur and English Prof what was I thinking? [palm]

Now everyone knows the going rate for a pound of fish is around $40 when you factor all the "toys" that go into fishing. But we men really do need our relaxion time.
