Why? Ross touched the ball on every kick-off and gave us a chance to score, while not having on of our better offensive players play a position where he could quite possibly get hurt.
What would Driver really have added that's worth putting him on the field over either Jones, Nelson, Jennings, Cobb and maybe even Boykin. He might be awfully slow, but Driver's not that far away from a 4.7 40 right now, himself.
Driver was active for 13 game this season and averaged 0.6 catches and 5.9 yards per game. Had he been a free agent signing, or not that high character a guy, everyone would be calling us crazy for not having cut him quite some time ago.
I love Driver. Both as a person and a player. But no one can beat time. He should just retire. Actually, he should've just retired a year ago.
