Also, Walden did two things tonight: 1) earned himself a hell of a raise this offseason with his superb play tonight; and 2) proved that Moses should be starting and giving Walden regular breathers. When Walden is fresh, he is capable of playing at a very high level next to Clay. He might also provide a good option to spy on 49ers QB next week.

Guy played a grade A game tonight.. gave up the edge at least once that I seen.. but that is nothing to complain about.

Love the way the Packers played tonight. Well...For three quarters at least. Loved getting to the quick hitters on offense. Weather it was dump offs to the RB's or the slants to WR's. Loved it all. It got a little ugly after the first drive of the third quarter. But still alive and going to San Francisco. I do wish they could have put this team away in grand fashion though.

I do not think it is a coincidence that almost all of the games where Walden has played very well are either in the first half of the season (last year) or when he has been regularly rotated in with another OLB (earlier part of this season with Perry, again tonight with Moses). I do not think it is a coincidence that when Claymaker was out, Walden was under performing relative to the start of the year.

It’s nice to get a playoff win, especially in Lambeau (first one in five years), but I think they’ll need to play better in order to defeat San Francisco. Their second-half effort on offense was not Super Bowl caliber.

I told NSD that Woodson will be a difference in this game. I was right. Woodson was everywhere. He was consistently getting to AD. Sure, he didn't always drag him down, but at the very least, he slowed him down. Hats off to Woodson.

We got handed this game though. We didn't have to do much. Webb sucked. He reminds me of Wrecks Grossman in his level of ineptitude.

Formo, Vikesrule, you guys seriously need a QB. Ponder doesn't cut it and Webb is downright awful.

Mrs. Z and I just got back. I had 2 Guinness, 1 Scotch, 4 shots of bourbon, and probably a few other drinks I don't remember. Heck of a night. Different bar this time and got to sit with REAL Niners fans, which was nice considering I'm used to sitting with poseurs. Had a great time.

This victory is kind of bittersweet. Our O did look good but our D didn't really have to do anything. Webb handed us a lot and we took advantage of it. This wasn't a real game, folks. Niners will be a real test.

Sound like you had a good night ZS, I was watching the game at a little playoff party at a friends house.
Problem being, said friend is a major cheesehead.....took some shit last night, but oh well.

With that said, Vikings fans have every reason to be proud this year.
After the last couple of years, to go 10-6 in regular season, beat the 49'ers, the Texans and split with the Bears and Packers and make it to the playoffs.
I'll take that for now

No excuses for the playoff game, it was what it was.

And many are forgetting the Ponder is still in his second year playing on a team that has a weak collection of receivers and Ponder himself was green coming in from Florida State. As and FSU fan, I can tell you he needed more time.. he should have been allowed to develop (like Rodgers) behind a veteran. The Vikings screwed themselves when they picked the veteran to be McNabb. So that threw Ponder into the fire and probably will stunt his growth for a bit. But at times this season he showed that he can be that player they need him to be... will he ever be a top 5 QB in this league? The depends on him putting in the work to do so and not chasing his blonde around.

I have no issue saying Ponder will become a better QB than say Cutler... his mental makeup on the field seems much more complete. And talent wise, I think he has all the physical tools to do so.

The issue for the Vikings is will that happen before AP becomes a shadow of himself... like this year a missed chance to capitalize with the best player in the game this season.

A couple time Matthews and Walden got pinched in... but for the most part the interior walled it off and we kept him from getting to the edge. If anyone gets a game ball... it should be BJ, Pick, Wilson, Neal, Matthews, Walden, Moses, Hawk, Jones, Etc. They are the grunts that let Woodson, Burnett, etc to come in and finish some of the plays off.
