Packers Sign Three To Practice Squad

The Green Bay Packers have signed cornerback Joshua Abrams, defensive tackle Fred Bledsoe and running back Steven Korte to the practice squad. Ted Thompson, Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations, announced the signings Wednesday.

UserPostedImageAbrams, a 5-foot-11, 196-pound rookie from Ohio, will wear No. 41.

UserPostedImageKorte, a 6-foot, 225-pound rookie from LSU, will wear No. 43.

UserPostedImageBledsoe, a 6-foot-3, 329-pound rookie from Arkansas who returns to the Packers' practice squad after a stint earlier this season, will wear No. 95.



This is a really dolorous way of looking at it -- it shows how low our season has fallen -- but with all the players being put on IR, it's freeing up slots in our practice squad to evaluate new talent before training camp next season.

I can't believe I just typed that with a slightly optimistic air. :wickedfart:

My money's on Bledsoe. We could use a 6'3'', 329-pound defensive lineman.

Though it's interesting that the Packers now have two players from LSU's championship team on the payroll. We could use some more championship-caliber talent on this roster. I'd like to see Korte challenge Wynn, Jackson, and Grant for a starting role.

Bledsoe has the best shot I would guess, but only because it's a position of need. I seriously doubt anyone on this board has heard of any of these guys, let alone have enough knowledge on them to properly evaluate which has the best shot of making the roster next year. The poll options might as well be "heads" or "tails".

If I'm not mistaken, Packers released Korte to sign P Durant Brooks.

At this point, DT is clearly the position that needs the most depth.

Chances are slim that any of them will make it but it would be great if Bledsoe turned into an NFL caliber player.
