I got brought into reality just an hour ago about how old I REALLY am.
We had a big snowstorm last night, 15 inches of snow, and the roads are a nightmare. I was going down to the store this morning to pick up some things...our hill was it's usual bobsled run, and as I got to the bottom with only 100 feet of skid marks I saw an accident in the making.

I'm at a stop light that is green for me and a GMC SUV is stopped at the red light. Coming up behind this car is another, going way to fast. Oh boy, accident in the making.

Bam!!!! Rear ender. The GMC has minor damage, but the other car has its' hood up into the windshield and left front tire at some odd angle that I'm guessing its' not suppossed to be. Several of us that saw this stop and run over to see if everyone is all right. Fine...no injuries.

The sheriff's officers arrive within minutes and one of them asks who saw the accident. Doing my civic duty I said I did. The deputy calls me over to his car and jeez, it's an old boyfriend of one of our daughters.

Deputy John: "Bob, what did you see happen?"

Honest citizen Bob: "This old guy in the blue car was going way to fast for conditions. He didn't hit his brakes until it was too late."

Deputy John: "Okay, we can measure the skid marks on the ice. He's got studded tires and there's a clear path of marks on the ice. And, how come you say he's old."

Bob: "He's got gray hair and look at him.....he's old."

Deputy Smart-Ass: "He's 63 Bob. What are you? 70?"

Bob: "I'm ALMOST 70. Won't hit that magic number until April."

Deputy..now laughing: "My mother used to call everyone that had gray hair and looked old 'old', even if they were 20 years younger than her. Guess it goes with the territory."

So...how many of you out there have parents, or even yourselves, that call others your age or close to it OLD? I find myself doing it more and more. Yes, I'm almost 70 but look about 55, act like 15 and think like a 12 year old.....all according to my wife and kids.

Age is all in the mind.

Well, you know you've reached 40 when everything either hurts or it itches.

Vikes....that means your are really, really old. Do you remember Fran Tarkenton? Or my old roommate from college, Terry Dillon? Played for the Vikes for one year in the mid 60's then died in a construction accident in Missoula.

Vikes..Terry Dillon played with me for two years at Montana. He was a great running back and defensive back, (we played both ways back then) and played in the 1962 East-West Shrine Game. He was drafted by the Vikings and played one year as defensive back, then came back to Missoula to work on the construction of I-90, and fell off a bridge just west of Missoula that summer. His body was found three weeks later about 5 miles downstream.

He was engaged to a beautiful girl at the time, and I remember that I and another player from the team spent several hours with her and her parents trying our best to help her coupe with what happened.

I still think of all the times he saved me from having to punt deep in our own territory, and especially the time he told me to run on a fake punt....I scored my only collegiant TD on the play....as he noticed that the defense was always pulling all linemen out when we punted. I went 55 yards untouched on that fake.

Number 22 is in my Hall of Fame.

As for the age thing - I'm 44 now and can still work like a man in his twenties. Age is a relative thing.

I took my kids sledding a couple of weekends ago. Three times down the hill and they were ready to go home cause they were tired walking up the hill. I told them the only thing that made us go in the house was being cold.

beast (51m) : I'm confused, Pete Carroll and Brian Schottenheimer? When Todd Monken, Joe Brady, Kellen Moore, Kliff Kingsbury and Zac Robinson are availab

Martha Careful (25-Jan) : thank you Mucky for sticking up for me
Martha Careful (25-Jan) : some of those people are smarter than you zero. However Pete Carroll is not
Mucky Tundra (24-Jan) : Rude!
beast (24-Jan) : Martha? 😋
Zero2Cool (24-Jan) : Raiders hired someone from the elderly home.
dfosterf (24-Jan) : I'm going with a combination of the two.
beast (24-Jan) : Either the Cowboys have no idea what they're doing, or they're targeting their former OC, currently the Eagles OC
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Fake news. Cowboys say no
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.
beast (23-Jan) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you
wpr (22-Jan) : Z, glad you are feeling better.
wpr (22-Jan) : My son and D-I-L work for UM. It's a way to pick on them.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (22-Jan) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
