Now the kicker. Complete that pass, and Cobb is almost guaranteed a TD.

in other news, I stumbled upon a fun fact on twitter just now.

I'll copy and paste in order to give the dude credit:

Daniel Bonney ‏@djbonney138
I looked up AR's stats from 2010 and he is better thru the 1st 5 games this year than 1st 5 the year he won SB

food for thought. While Rodgers has obviously not been playing his best, and he has obviously taken sacks on the same plays he had WIDE OPEN receivers, our level of expectation for the man is through the roof.

heh, is Cobb ALWAYS open? Man, that guy should never leave the field.

My solemn promise is I'm going to work every day to get better. I'm going to clean up some of the things I'm not doing as well as I should. But, the proof is in the pudding. Right now I'm not getting it done. I've got to look at myself first.

But I can tell you nothing has slipped in the way of preparation or the way that I practice or the energy and leadership that I take to it. Which is probably the most frustrating thing. You can't really point to one thing. I just haven't performed as well on Sundays as I'm used to performing.

And here is proof that Aaron Rodgers checks out PackersHome.com lol

You really have to put it behind you. Monday, you come in a watch the film and after that it’s time to move on, as frustrating as it is. There are some losses that stick with you a little longer, but you really have to be able to refocus quickly. We have a good opponent this week and an opportunity to get to 3-3 – which is where we were in 2010 when we went on a little bit of a run.

He is certainly playing his way out of elite status. Right now when people talk about elite QBs Eli Manning has definitely taken his place and last game probably confirmed the newest athletic and accurate QB on the block is Andrew Luck. I think we would all love to see another game like the Falcons playoff game where Rodgers just takes the damn thing over. That would be awesome. But ON THE FLIPSIDE, maybe Rodgers thinks he can do that even when the opportunity is not there, or maybe worse yet, the coach Mike McCarthy is feeding into this IDEAL situation. It is reason for concern in my opinion. What do you guys think?

Myself, I have tried to keep my expectations for Rodgers and the team in general realistic. I see many people doing the same with Rodgers as we did with Favre in the mid 90's. We need to not expect as much, we also need to not credit him so much and realistically critique and blame when needed. And do it evenly for him as well as his recievers.

A play this last game comes to mind. Finley's drop, that is what people want to remember, Finley dropped the pass, which he did, and with his skill and salary, he should be catching it. But it was not a good placed pass. It was on Finley's hip, which sounds good, except, Finly was running away from Rodgers towards the sideline, and the defender was trailing Finley. that is not where to throw that ball. Throwing it there makes the ball interceptable if jumped right, and makes it harder to catch. Finley had to reach down to his hip and backwards for the catch. Put that ball in front of Finley where he doesn't ahve to turn around as much on a run, and where he can keep his arms up and use his hands in front of him and that ball probably gets caught.

He has thrown balls into the dirt, he let two sail. Both could have injured his either Jordy or Williams as they were hit while covered. Lucky the DBs didn't light them up.

His throw from past the LOS. I can't be the only person watching who was screaming. Run the ball already. And that play resulted not only in a penalty, the forced throw also resulted in Finley's injury.

This is a relief to see and shows that Aaron has great leadership qualities (suck on that Blake Baratz). Only good can come from this. Adjustments will be made and Rodgers could possibly go off this next game. Its up to the rest of the team to follow, take accountability for their mistakes, and play the game.

Have a really good feeling about the game this weekend.

Did you all watch the 49ers game?
Alex Smith used his clunky Phillip Rivers type release and wobbled a pass over to Vernon Davis 40 yards down the field and Davis had no one within 8-10 yards of him.

When's the last time you saw Jermichael Finley that open?

It's a 33% knock on Finley, 33% on no running game threat to sell the play action, and 33% on receivers having NO break away speed.

The 9ers threat of a running game, opens up the pass. The threat of Moss opens things up for V.Davis and Crabtree.

There is no major THREAT to the defense like that on the Packers right now.

G. Jennings doesn't scare anyone anymore like Moss.
Finley doesn't scare anyone like V.Davis.
The running game is not bruising like Frank Gore. ONLY Cobb.

All of those non threats result in tight 1 on 1 coverage, nickel packages with DBs clogging throwing lanes, and daring Green Bay to run.

This literally FORCES Aaron Rodgers to play like...well..good old cellphone genital guy. Gunsling it through triple coverage and hope for the best.

Aaron's taking the hit, but he's in his way, calling out his team to raise their games up too.

Fall from Elite is starting to become a good description. From Elite to Very good.

beast (22h) : It's a new rule, so it's not clear, but my understanding was that they could be IR'd at any time
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : *had to be IRed at 53
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : beast, I thought the designate return from IR players had to be IR at cutdowns to 53, not before
beast (8-Aug) : It's a brand new rule, either last season or this season, prior, all pre-season IRs were done for the season
beast (8-Aug) : But the Packers would have to use one for their return from IR spots on him, when they cut down to 53.
beast (8-Aug) : I think the NFL recently changed the IR rules, so maybe the season might not be over for OL Glover.
Zero2Cool (8-Aug) : Packers star Howton, first NFLPA prez, dies at 95 😔
dfosterf (8-Aug) : Apparently it is too complicated for several to follow your simple instructions, but I digress

Mucky Tundra (6-Aug) : Travis Glover placed on IR; seasons over for him

dfosterf (5-Aug) : I'm going to call that a good move.
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : Packers sign CB Corey Ballentine
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : I'm not sure how to kill the draft order just yet so it's not so confusing.
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : *to be able
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : and because it's not a dynasty league (which makes a lot more sense to be ability to trade picks)
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Oh I know; I was just exploring and it blew my mind that you could trade picks because of the whole reordering thing
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Zero, I think I preferred my offer: your 1st for my 15th rounder
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : Keep in mind, we do a draft reorder once all members locked in
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : You can have my 12th Rd for your 2nd round
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Hey i didn't know we could trade picks in fantasy

Mucky Tundra (3-Aug) : Rock claims to have never eaten a cheese curd
Zero2Cool (3-Aug) : We did not leave.
Mucky Tundra (3-Aug) : Family Night! WE ARE SO BACK!
Mucky Tundra (2-Aug) : To this day, I'm still miffed about his 4 TD game against Dallas on Thanksgiving going to waste
Martha Careful (2-Aug) : Congratulations Sterling Sharpe. He was terrific and I loved watching him play.
beast (2-Aug) : I believe it's technically against the CBA rules, but Jerry just calls it a simple unofficial chat... and somehow gets away with it.
beast (2-Aug) : Jerry Jones is infamous for ̶n̶e̶g̶o̶t̶i̶a̶t̶i̶n̶g̶ chatting with players one on one... and going around the agent.
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Oo just saw a blurb saying that Dallas negotiated directly with Parsons and not through his agent
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : I assumed that both guys will get paid, just a matter of when or how we get there
Zero2Cool (1-Aug) : McLaurin nor Micah going anywhere. They will get money
