Poll Question: Should Roger Goodell award the Packers the win?

Total: 19

I agree you can't change it now, it's just something we are going to have to man up and take on the chin but this is solely on the officiating, we did what we had to do to win at the end of the game but due to obvious mistakes that we had no control over we were awarded the loss. Saying we should have just played better the whole game is like saying on paper the 49ers are better than the vikings so why bother playing the game, you don't know whats going to happen throughout the game that's why they play, we made adjustments halfway through the game which led to us in a position to win the game which was robbed from us.

I think the analogy you bring with the quote is not a relevant one.. I am not saying we should have won because we are the better team on paper. Or anything there remotely.. I am saying poor play calling allowing the defense to have the advantage in the first half hog tied our offense. Words cannot explain how pathetic I thought the game was called by Mike McCarthy in the first half. Run the ball to help the line have a chance in pass protection against a team that can pass rush effectively.. give us a fighting chance.

I'm glad our players are giving them shit. This is just crazy.

3. Where the NFL has failed here is not giving the officiating crews on the field more guidance in game. We know they are making mistakes, so why not expand the review process to assist them in making calls. The games are already running long, so what is a couple more minutes to get the calls right. They seen the confusion last night, modify the review procedures with the replacements in there to allow the booth to make the correct call.

A couple of thoughts here:

1. No you cannot overturn this call, even as poorly handled as it was on the field. The replay officials hands were tied, the ref on the field blew it by not conversing with the two officials in the endzone. Once done, the replay official had only one choice.. was there a catch.

Roger the Dodger can over turn the call. All he has to do is claim suspicion of the refs throwing the game for the sake of gambling.

2. I actually side with the NFL in this battle with the officials union. There is no way a part time employee should garner full pensions from a part time gig. I think it ridiculous to cave to those demands.

It was proven all season long that these replacements can't do the job they were called upon to do. It's time NFL Inc admitted it and settled. A compromise would still work out.

4. The Packers, more specifically MM, cost the Packers this game. His stubbornness not to run the ball in the first half, allowing the Seahawks to pin their ears back was pathetic.

As a Packer fan, I am outraged by the result of the game. But upon review, I think there is so much more to this than just blaming the NFL and Goodell.

Greed is not just with the NFL.. it is with the players and the officials alike. I want it resolved, but I refuse to lay the entire blame upon the NFL offices alone.

Yep, because you didn't run the ball in the first half you don't deserve to win. Resiliency? Adjustments? Nope! Roughing the passer? Pass interference? Interception? None of those mean crap because of what you did in the first half.

In my eyes the real victims of this whole scenario is the packers defense who played outstanding ball. They (IMO) held the hawks to 7 points all game multiple 3 and outs and shut down what was supposed to be an explosive running attack and did their job against an ordinary pass attack, then at the end of the game have a blatant O.P.I call missed and not only that but have an obvious int not only not ruled as an int but called as a catch to lose the game. Its just sad that they all played so hard and did so well to have this taint their performance.

We were 7 - 0 down despite playing crap in the first half because our D kept us in it. We adjusted 2nd half and deserved the win only to be screwed by the replacements!!!

Superbowl seating.. and handling of the tickets for the blunder.

Tipping their hands of collusion prior to the Lockout.. and they will have to pay for that soon.

Not having an effective method of dealing with less that NFL quality officials. They knew enough to insert, train and try an band aid the games with replacement refs well in advance of the strike, they should have had a better plan in place to carry this decision that was pretty clear they were going to stand on fight upon.

In the bare minimum he should have conversed with the two opposing officials with differing calls before he decided to rule one way or another.

If the NFL does something about this, it will be because of that error. That was the injustice to the Packers.

We see shoving all the time on hail mary's.. it is rarely called ever. As blatant as that one was, I don't know how many regular officials make that call. I would guess few.

So now you have another round of expenses that will be passed down to the fans.. because neither the players nor the owners are going to forfeit any cash.

I just happen to think the NFL refs are demanding too much.. and I refuse to not lay blame upon them for this issue as well. To buckle and pay them is allowing them to bilk the system on our dime.

Sooner or later, the fans will revolt against this.. and it will invoke change without costing us as a whole more.
