We have been trying for medical assistance, but so far they say we made too much money. (Isn't THAT a joke???) Like i tell Lauriejean all the time, "We are too rich to be poor, and too poor to be rich."
She says we should get divorced so that we could get more assistance. That's a sad thing, but true in oor society. They penalize you for staying together through thick and thin.
We are trying for food assistance too. Not sure yet if we will get it.

I HATE having to try for those things. It's embarrassing. We had "food stamps" once back in the 1980's during another hard time. We only needed it for a couple months, and then i found work. I hated it. I always felt like people were looking down on me. And it's not like we were buying prime rib or anything.
