All kinds of speculation type nuggets in this article.. thought I would share.

From PackerPedia

Maybe the Packers espouse the old idea that "young people should be seen and not heard."

Even with a year under his belt, Randall Cobb is still the youngest player on the Packers roster. Coming off of a season where he set the all time franchise rookie record with 1,616 combined yards (which had stood since 1952), it would be reasonable to think that the Packers would want to feature this ascending young player now in his second season.

If they are, they're not letting on.

There has been some speculation recently that the Packers were sandbagging B.J. Coleman, in hopes that if there weren't much film or buzz about him they would be more likely to sneak him on to their practice squad. While we will never really know whether that's true or not, the same case could be made for Randall Cobb and his role in the Packers offense this year.

Cobb is a dynamic playmaker, as evidenced by the fact that he obliterated the aforementioned rookie record previously held by Packers Hall of Fame member Billy Howton by nearly 400 yards. As opposed to Howton, who led the NFL in receiving his rookie season, Cobb's effect was mostly limited to special teams last year. He only touched the ball 27 times on offense, scoring just one touchdown.

Cobb wasn't helped by the fact that there was a lockout last year, so his exposure to the offense was done on the fly. He also is on a team that is stacked at wide receiver, with all four of the veteran players in front of him having at least one 50+ catch season under their belts. The Packers offense was humming last season, so there was little need to make changes during the season to get Cobb more involved.

That's what my line of thinking was weeks ago.

I'm not really sure how the Packers could use Cobb more. Unless they take snaps away from someone else. I have a feeling if DD starts to decline Cobb will be right there stepping in that role. Not saying I think that will happen with Driver. But if it does I think thats how Cobb gets his first big offensive chance.

They had a WR run play which is very different for MM, which take kind of thing would be perfect for a returner type like Cobb. Also I'd also like to see a WR pass to another WR for a TD... Cobb was used at a wild cat QB in college, and Nelson has shown at times, he can throw it very well, when he's not being pressured at least and throw a couple of WR passes for TDs in college.

I think Mike McCarthy will have a few more of those type of plays as change up and surprises.

I also don't get the Driver decline talk this year. As far as I remember, he was the only damn one catching balls in that playoff game we choked in last year. Unless he is too slow, can't make cuts, or stops catching balls, he should be in there. My mancrush on Driver is so deep I'd like him in (or at least on the team) even if he does decline.

If teams want to place a linebacker on Driver, they are just making a mistake. He has shown that.
Just because a team is dumb enough to place a LB on Driver, doesn't mean Driver still can't outplay a DB.

Cobb is going to be a phenomenal player for the Packers in the upcoming seasons. He is a very dynamic player and can do a lot but lets stay away from the whole trick play thing. Like someone said, a pass not made by 🇦🇷 is a wasted play. What Cobb needs to do is join that little offseason group of Greg Jennings and Larry Fitzgerald and work on his route running to get up to Gregorious' level.

...almost brings a tear down my cheek thinking about that and the possibilities from it.

beast (8h) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (8h) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (18h) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (18h) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (20h) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (21h) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
dfosterf (22h) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
Zero2Cool (22h) : Thank you
wpr (22h) : Z, glad you are feeling better.
wpr (22h) : My son and D-I-L work for UM. It's a way to pick on them.
Zero2Cool (22h) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (22h) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (22h) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (23h) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (23h) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (23h) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (23h) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (23h) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Oh snap!!!
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Even Stevie Wonder can see that.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Nah, you see Lions OC leaving to be HC of Bears is directly related to Packers.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ohhhhhhh Zero is in TROUBLE
packerfanoutwest (21-Jan) : Zero, per your orders, check Bearshome, not packershome
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Then he'll land with another team and flourish.
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Ben going to Bears. He'll be out in 3 years.
Mucky Tundra (20-Jan) : what's so funny?
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
