I might take him most of the season to regain his strength and speed. Hopefully he shines on STs that will give the coaches an incentive to keep him when Zombo comes off suspension.

This guy clearly has some toughness. Glad he made the team.

I agree that show toughness and how bad he wanted this.

In the chiefs game I thought he was all over the place.

Sometimes in perfect position and would miss the play.
Other times in very bad position and made the play.
Sometimes would get moved out of the way.
Other times make a blocker miss, and get to the ball.

His style doesn't remind me of Bishop, but he's off and on missing or making a play does. Bishop was like that early on, needed to learn more and become a lot more consistently good. But they both flash the potential... Bishop seems like he's more physical and stout but Manning is a better pure athletic, who needs some offseason strength training and maybe get his weight higher. But he said he was dealing with sickness and got down to 220s at one point... which would explain that part with no problem.

As someone with ulcerative colitis myself, I haven't heard of a parasite causing colitis. Usually, the cause is unknown and it's a chronic condition. I'm certainly no expert, but if it is truly just a temporary issue, that's great! Although even if it lingered, it shouldn't cause much of an issue as long as its mild to moderate. There are several NFL players that have dealt with similar issues, such as David Garrard, Rolando McClain, and a few others I can't remember off the top of my head.

Best of luck to him. As an NC State guy, I've been rooting for him, obviously. He's got talent. The mental aspect of his game will dictate how far he goes, imo.

You just have to respect the fact that it would not allow that to be an excuse for him. Could have shut it down, taken the IR approach and come back next season. Instead, guy wanted to ball and play the game, regardless of the pain and circumstance.
