What's the Packers numbers for the salary cap?

$3.05 million freed up by releasing Nick Collins
$5.71 million freed up by releasing Chad Clifton

(I think they will get half at least of Donald Drivers $5 million too)

Not including Anthony Hargrove's contract, we now have 12.61 million in cap space. If I remember right, Hargrove signed for the veteran minimum, so in reality we are probably somewhere between 11.5 and 12 million.

Source is PFT's latest salary cap update from march 30th which has us at 3.4 million (did not include Hargrove's signing).

Packers: $11.25 million.
Vikings: $10.59 million.
Bears: $3.97 million.
Lions: $3.77 million.

I like having the most cap room to play with in the division... of course that money is going to Jenning's/Lang's new contracts (and or to save for Matthew/Raji contracts) but still it's nice to have.

I'm kind of surprised the Packers are in the top half (maybe 10) with salary cap space.

After this season it's something like Jennings, Lang and Brad Jones.

After next season it's something like Matthews, Raji, Burnett, Finley, Starks, Shields, Pickett, Newhouse, Neal and more... seem a like a ton and all of the big names might not be resigned...

First, I'm also surprised we're doing so well in cap room. Secondly, it surprises me that you even mentioned Brad Jones. I'm fully expecting that he does not even make the 53 man roster this season, the idea of keeping him + even considering resigning him next year seems like a stretch to me.

For the year after that... there is also J. Jones, Saturday and maybe more...

and Rodgers is the year after that...

dfosterf (13h) : Beer brat and ticket is where the money comes from
dfosterf (13h) : The 40th is Titletown Tech itself. This is a pet project of both Ed Policy and Mark Murphy

dfosterf (25-Jul) : It's my one day deal complaint dept. on shareholder meeting day
dfosterf (25-Jul) : Probably a homer access credential intimidation kinda thing
dfosterf (25-Jul) : Meathead "journalists" skip this, concentrating on operational revenue when convenient. They switch when net revenue is more favorable.

dfosterf (25-Jul) : Maybe a low flying drone
dfosterf (25-Jul) : Did Savion Williams run into a goalpost or something?
Mucky Tundra (25-Jul) : also, no bueno when a guy starts getting concussions right off the bat in his career
Zero2Cool (25-Jul) : Concussion is worse. Banks probably vet off day via back booboo claim
Mucky Tundra (25-Jul) : @AndyHermanNFL Jordy Nelson out at camp today. No word if he’s in play for one of the two open roster spots ; )
dfosterf (25-Jul) : Is that better or worse than Banks bad back?
