I think being number 1 WR on the Packers is as important as being the number 1 RB. The Packers offense is about matchups and exploiting them.

I would rather have 3 receivers with over 80 catches than have one with 120 and all the rest under 40.

Having a surrounding cast makes a receiver have to compete for more opportunities. It doesn't make it easier to lead the league in catches. Having nobody around him does that.

Megatron would catch fewer balls if he played for the Packers.

I think Calvin Johnson recently said the other WR need to get the ball more? I'm not positive on that.

Yes, Brett Favre became a real QB after Sterling Sharpe left because as he said he lost his safety blanket. I forget which book, but Brett said anytime he was in trouble, he'd just wing it to Sharpe's side of the field, lol.

Greg Jennings deserves a contract similar to the ones Marques Colston and Vincent Jackson received this off-season. I'm guessing that's the starting point in negotiations. The Packers are good at taking care of their own, especially team leaders. Jennings is among them. I can’t imagine they won’t make it work.

I think we might need to consider the possibility that the packers front office will let Jennings walk.

I hope they dont, but if he wants a FA type of contract, i dont believe he will get it in green bay, the hometown discount needs to be pretty big for him to get resigned/extended.

I keep hearing about the ideas of Jennings and Rodgers trying to break the bank... but my thoughts are they could of tried that on their last contracts and honestly I thought both left money on the table in their last deals and think they will again. I mean they're gonna ask for a fair price but they're not gonna go with a crazy high price ether is my thought. Jennings will be back is my thought... note the Super Bowl he has the go to guy when we needed a first down. And he wasn't playing in the Chiefs game when they lost for the first time of last season... I love Nelson but I don't think he or the others are #1 guys...

Though Finley has said he wants to be the top paid TE in the NFL... and he has the skill to do it... but hasn't been able to put it all together yet. And other TEs now have broken onto the sense (I don't count Saints TE as a TE... he's a 6'6" WR IMO... blocks like a WR too... just saying)

I'd say watch out for Matthews and Raji more to try to break the bank as they're coming off their rookie deals and we don't know what kind of money they think their worth compared to market value of what they really are. Though both are very important.

I don't see Greg as being the type of player that holds out for every last cent. He is a very intelligent player. He will seek a deal that gives him & his family financial security without making it impossible for GB to sign other highly valued players.

I would also note that when we talk about WR drops, I very rarely see Jennings contribute to that situation. Although when he does it's usually spectacular, like that time in Detroit when he beat the defender, had a sure TD, but bounced the ball back over his shoulder to the defender for the INT. I think that was Rodgers' first concussion game that year.

It's important to have a top 3 WR mentality. So much better than having one super stud a la Calvin Johnson. Right now, it's Jennings, Jordy, and Finley. (Yes, I know Finley's a TE). Driver was Finley last year. If it comes between Jennings and Finley, it will be Jennings, Jordy, and Cobb or Jones. In 2007, we had Driver, Jennings, and Jones. That was a heck of a mix as well.

I do agree with Dakota. We have become spoiled. If you look at what we had in the 70s, 80s, 90s, and heck, even up until 2007, they pale in comparison. Our SB winning WRs in 1996 can't hold a candle to what we have now.
