Again, I am not a fan of his, but he was doubled teamed a ton, and missed time due to his suspension.

The Cowboys are going to target him for obvious reasons. Jay Ratliff was never a true nose tackle. He's more of an end, but I also think Carolina and Kansas City are going to look at him as well.

I think when you see comments about a player's lack of effort it's important for the scouts and coaches do really do their jobs interviewing and investigating. These comments many times are made by journalists who haven't done their homework; or coaches,scouts or management that is spewing disinformation. In addition, the player may not like school but bust his butt for a paycheck, he may have been asked to play too may downs exhausted, or any number of other factors effecting his perceived effort and motivation

I understand that, but what "elite" pass rusher isn't doubled most of the time? It's not likely to happen very often, unless of course there is another elite player rushing the passer as well. I'm not trying to say he's not a great player, because he is, but the games he actually played in last season were less than impressive at times. He disappeared and got pushed around quite often . . . sort of like a guy that we're all familiar with on the Packers (see my avatar). Except he was double teamed even less.

Well, you just answered your own question. If you don't want your elite pass rusher double teamed, you add another. Opponents can't double team everybody. They only got 11 guys at one time.

Peppers didn't pose us much of a problem without a second threat and they probably have more to offer in that regard then we do. A second pass rusher is critical to our success IMO.

Bears are desperate to add a rusher opposite Peppers just like we are opposite Matthews. The Giants really looked like crap last season, then all of a sudden they get Umenyora and Tuck back... wow. Did they roll. IMO, we need to stock our DL and OLB positions in like fashion. Just pound the front 7 in the draft and we should be very much improved. Unfortunately, we do require C, RB and probably S, but I think we can save that for R4 and later. A very good pass rush with sound tacklers will make our entire team better.
