I think JJ's underrated. He'd normally be a #2 guy on most teams, maybe a #1. Dude can get it done. He's just had the dropsies at times. But then all our WRs have. I think we could get something for him, in which case DD would stay an extra year. If he makes the team.

Keep it up and you'll be in the Nerdman/DakotaT dojo of coolness. [grin1]

Anyway, if I could get a 3rd rounder out of James Jones, I'd do it every day and twice on Sunday. We are very thin at DL, OLB, and safety - and the more higher picks we can use to land serviceable players the better.

I very much doubt we could get a third for him though, because he couldn't even get a decent contract last year when he was an unrestricted free agent. James Jones is horribly overated by Packer Fans.

Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Jones is a good fit for McCarthy’s system, though. He’s a very good No. 3 receiver. Frankly, I think he could be a No. 2 receiver, but not in a pass oriented offense. He’s never going to be somebody you’ll want consistently featured in your offensive attack. He’s always going to be a complimentary player.

In today’s league, three million nets you a complimentary player. In our offense, he’s perfect for what he does, so I don't see the point in dealing him. You don't trade just for the sake of making a trade.

He's a good football player who can play all of the WR positions, run every route, beat a press, pick up yac, and make big plays down field. He's not really elite in any aspect but he's well worth the money the Packers pay him. You don't really improve your team by getting rid of the guys who are living up to their salary and making a positive impact on the field.

Scott Wells' contract with the Rams is a four-year deal worth $24 million, with $13 million guaranteed.

Jeff Saturday's two-year deal in Green Bay is worth $7.75 million, including $4 million this season.

Do any of you who disagree with the Saturday pick up honestly think that Scott Wells is worth that contract? Ted Thompson got quite the steal here with Jeff Saturday. No guaranteed money and only a 2 year deal (showing that he is just a stop-gap contract). Packers now have a reliable veteran to fill the void at center while they pick another center up in the draft (my pick- David Molk from Michigan).

Saturday is a great fit in this offensive line and I don't really see how playing musical chairs would be a better solution than this(someone mentioned it). Wells was as good as gone from the beginning. Saturday comes in and plays his original position, allowing everyone else to stay at their current position.

The offensive linemen on Twitter loved this signing. I'd take what they think of Saturday over what Rodgers thinks of him.

dfosterf (26-Jun) : I think it would be great to have someone like Tom Grossi or Andy Herman on the Board of Directors so he/they could inform us
dfosterf (26-Jun) : Fair enough, WPR. Thing is, I have been a long time advocate to at least have some inkling of the dynamics within the board.
wpr (26-Jun) : 1st world owners/stockholders problems dfosterf.
Martha Careful (25-Jun) : I would have otherwise admirably served
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Also, no more provision for a write-in candidate, so Martha is off the table at least for this year
dfosterf (25-Jun) : You do have to interpret the boring fine print, but all stockholders all see he is on the ballot
dfosterf (25-Jun) : It also says he is subject to another ballot in 2028. I recall nothing of this nature with Murphy
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy is on my ballot subject to me penciling him in as a no.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : I thought it used to be we voted for the whatever they called the 45, and then they voted for the seven, and then they voted for Mark Murphy
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Because I was too lazy to change my address, I haven't voted fot years until this year
dfosterf (25-Jun) : of the folks that run this team. I do not recall Mark Murphy being subject to our vote.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.
Zero2Cool (25-Jun) : Maybe wicked wind chill made it worse?
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : And then he signs with Cleveland in the offseason
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : @SharpFootball WR Diontae Johnson just admitted he refused to enter a game in 41° weather last year in Baltimore because he felt “ice cold”

Mucky Tundra (10-Jun) : How's the ayahuasca tea he makes, Martha?
Martha Careful (10-Jun) : Turns out he like older women

Mucky Tundra (10-Jun) : I might be late on this but Aaron Rodgers is now married
Mucky Tundra (10-Jun) : Well he can always ask his brother for pointers
Zero2Cool (10-Jun) : Bo Melton taking some reps at CB as well as WR
Zero2Cool (10-Jun) : key transactions coming today at 3pm that will consume more cap in 2025
