I'm glad to hear everyone is more optimistic on this one than I am.

I just think this is a step down at a key position.

Hope I'm wrong.

Wow, I question one off season move and now I am "born to bitch".

BTW, Zero, I do believe if you want to check, the last time I questioned Ted Thompsons decision making was in 2009 after week 9 when the Packers were 4-4 and coming off an embarasing defeat to I think it was Tampa Bay.

I wasn't alone that week in my thinking.

As we all know, The Packers beat up on Dallas the next week and went on to make The play-offs.
Been pretty happy since.

O-lines just don't magically become "great". They take time to gell. Looks like The Packers may be playing "musical chairs" again, we all lived through that. I for one don't want to do it again.

Hopefully Saturday does have 1 more season in him and comes together with the other o-linemen, maybe Wells asked for too much, IDK, still gonna stick with my original opinion that Wells should have been re-signed.

It all starts up front on both sides of the ball, if your O-line can't protect, your QB is in danger.

You D-line can't create pressure and/or stop the run, your Lb's and Db's are in trouble.

At the very least this should buy us time to get a center of the future.
Why is Jerry Kramer not in the Hall of Fame?

Jeff Saturday's two-year deal in Green Bay is worth $7.75 million, including $4 million this season.

There. We didn't even pay him in double digit millions. Doesn't look like there's any incentive either.

Pretty good for somebody who had to analyze Peyton Manning's millions of checks at the line of scrimmage.

Yeah, because we all know that Thompson has never found a decent player outside of the top 3 in the draft.

Odds are high the Packers will want a center with that grade, though sometimes it takes an aggressive approach or luck to land what you want.

I think I heard the JJ rumor from Arrigo. It would be a borrow from Peter to pay Paul scenario, but JJ probably gets a little frustrated playing behing Jorde and soon to be Cobb.

I like the move. Less pressure for Ted to find a guy who can start day one. We will still draft a centre, but now more options seem to be available to us and now our pick can learn behind a pro-bowler.

I hoping that joining a team with a shot at a ring will rejuevenate Jeff. I don't think many of the folks in Indy were having fun last season so I don't put much stock in judging his ability for next season on what went down last season.

I like the move. We need a veteran at center until we can develop another. Mainly though, I like it for Rodgers' continued development. He's reaching a point where the ceiling is very close. What better way to push it a little higher than to bring in someone who has worked closely with Manning for many years? If anyone can give Rodgers a few little tips here and there, you'd think it would be Saturday.
