Finally.. starting to protect the defensive players

I am not against protecting offensive players, but it is kind of bullshit that the defensive players rack up fine after fine, have to worry about hitting players in the open field and where they hit them, yet the offensive players have free reign to blast the defensive players.

Step one to equalizing that.

6. Expanding the defenseless player rule to protect defensive players on crackback blocks, making it illegal to hit them in the head or neck area.

The bad news.. it is more and more taking the physical aspect out of the game.

I think the defenseless player ruled should be changed to only no helmet-to-helmet on defenseless, not every hit to the head

As for this rule, I think it's long overdue.

I think that they should change the rule for ALL players, that all you have to do is get within 3 yards of an opponent, and yell "You're DOWN!" and that person has to drop to the ground immediatly.

That way, no one will get hurt.[palm]
