I'm not fond of conversations in the shout, but I am glad he asked because it gives me an opportunity to exhibit how I'd like good comments like that to be handled. Create a thread and lets discuss it!
Things have been going okay since being back. It's been pretty hectic, but I suppose that's to be expected. I've been traveling a lot. I'm going to Plainwell, MI again all next week. Tuesday I had a really encouraging conversation with my boss and his vision for me. It would be a lot of challenges, but I 100% believe there is nothing on this planet that I can not do if given a chance.
Lydia, the 15 year old who I basically adopted more than 10 years ago struggled massively her first semester of high school. She's since moved in with me and her grades have improved dramatically. When she moved in, I told her it was going to be somewhat like a Prison and she had to earn everything again. iPod, phone, laptop, later bed time, etc ... everything is starting back at zero. She wasn't happy, but later said "i don't know where I'd be without you daddy, you mean a lot to me". It was hard to hold back the emotions because I was trying to lay down the law, lol. I just told her she would never have to worry about not having me because I'm always going to be there.
The girls both really like our house. It's one of the few times I've felt like I was "home". I nearly had that feeling in Colorado, but it stopped short because I couldn't call up buddies or family an have them over.
So, to those who are curious, everything is going pretty well. My job is kind of frustrating because I'm in the infant stages and just learning what I can, can't do, but I trust in time the vision in store for me will me great.
