Starks and Green should be locks to make the roster. Others should either be cut or be forced to compete with late-rounders or UDFAs.

No need for a big name FA or early round pick (god forbid we actually use those to build the god damkn defense) with this offensive system.

It would be interesting if Richadson dropped to us. From what I seen he is usually rated in the top ten. If Ted believes in BPA we should have a "new" RB. Or, of course, he could trade the pick.

All they need in a RB is someone who can carry the ball about 10 times a game without fumbling. Pick up the blitz when asked to and catch the dump off pass and get 7-10 yards once again with out fumbling. Don't need to spend a #1-2 pick for that.

Does anyone know if he'll be close to 100% by OTA's?

RB is the least of our worries.
If they don't get a pass rusher, it won't matter how good of a RB we have.
A defense that sucks. That's what really needs to be fixed first and foremost.

We were one and done in the Playoffs because the D sucked. It couldn't generate pressure. It couldn't tackle. It relied on takeaways and when it didn't get them, the opposing team scored.

We won the SB last year with the #2 D. This year, it was #19. From historical purposes, to win SBs, you should be in the top 6 Ds. There were few exceptions to that rule in SB history (I did a separate post on this ranking the Ds of the SB winners and almost all of them had top 6 Ds).

The special teams didn't help much either, with the two failed onside kicks.

if teams aren't ready for onside kicks against us in the playoffs by now they haven't been paying attention

Our O forgot to show up.

But here's the thing - sometimes the D has to win you a game. Check the 2011 schedule to the right. The O scored under 24 points ONCE the entire season. We lost that game.

It didn't show up against the Giants either, and it would be nice for once if the D can bail out the O.

That's pretty impressive if 15 times in a season, your O wins you the ball game. But those are odds you don't want to depend on.

2011 Packers = 1980s Chargers. That's NOT a good thing. D wins championships. As much as I hate that saying, I tried disproving it several years back and all my research only managed to prove it.

I bitch because of the fact that we appear to have lost our dominance at home over the past few years. It might be hard to notice with our 15-1 record but then we lost our first home field game in the playoffs. The point to this thread is that maybe we do need to emphasize the running game more at the sacrifice of the huge passing numbers in preparation for the winter months when things matter most. Ideally the current group of RBs have that ability. nerdman's post makes me optimistic.
