What would it take for you to consider this to have been a "successful" season? It would be great to win the Superbowl, but only ONE team wins that game every year. To me, I'd at least like to see us win ONE playoff game. Once you get to the playoffs, ANYTHING can happen. We saw that the last TWO years.
But I feel like if we don't at least win one game, then all the negative feelings and fears about the defense will ring throughout the offseason. If we make it to the NFCC, then that shows we're contenders if nothing else. I think it's great to get home field advantage, but I just think we gotta win at least one.
That said, what do I THINK is gonna happen? Shit. I think we go ALL THE WAY. Capers has got some surprises up his sleeve, and the offense is unstoppable.

I think it is a successful season if I get to watch some great Packer Football.

Everything after that is icing.

In a horrible year when we were well out of the playoffs and were getting blown out in December, I sat in my seat in the 34deg temps with freezing rain, cheering the team on until the last snap.

That is my minimum.

But it is a heck of a lot more fun when we win it all. I have seen that 2 times in my life. I would like that to happen every year.
I want to go out like my Grandpa did. Peacefully in his sleep.
Not screaming in terror like his passengers.

It already has been a successful season. Win or lose in the playoffs. Now we will define how much of a successful season it is. Moderately successful or greatly successful.

Would I be disappointed if they lose? Sure but then I am disappointed if they lose a preseason game.

Even if the win it all I still have concerns about the defense. If they win it all I have concerns about the offense too. Obviously not the same issues or concerns but there will be some.

I don't define my loyalty bu wins and losses.

We're in the playoffs and we don't have to wear purple to support our team. Life is grand.

I think this year is a success even if we lose this weekend. This team looks great going forward, so even if we stumble I can see this team being in competitive as long as A-Rod wears the Green and Gold.

To be honest after we lost Collins I was not thinking we'd end up at 15-1. He is such a huge leader in our secondary.

to make 2011 successful, we'll need nerdmann to separate paragraphs with a line between them.

When a team won the Super Bowl the year prior, if the following year results in anything less than another, it's failure. End of discussion.

6-0 in our division is success, winning the division going away is success, going 15-1 and leading the league in scoring and interceptions is success. Having to win the Super Bowl to validate a season = spoiled f@#$in fans. Enjoy the ride for the next 10 years while we watch our awesome quarterback play the game to perfection.

I will be immensely disappointed if we don't win it all....but I don't think that makes the season a failure. I've greatly enjoyed everything about this season so far.

These are great points. It's already been a successful season that's true.
(Space between paragraphs)

Yeah, our defense has issues. But they have that whether we win or lose. And you know what? Does anyone NOT think that will get addressed in the offseason? LOL. This team won the Superbowl last year, almost went undefeated this year, and is STILL on the upwsing.

Another thing I'd like to see is Arodge get the MVP. I'm cheering for him to be able to stick it in Favre's face. But I think he's got that wrapped up.

We don't have any real arch rivals left in the playoffs. So it's not gonna be like extreme personal humiliation if we're eliminated by the Queens or anything. But I also don't think we're gonna be eliminated. The Saints scare me and the Patriots scare me. But not alot. We very likely scare them more than they scare us.

My baby kicked brain cancer's ass and the Packers have laid the smackdown to the league. Now let's enjoy the ride shall we?

Mucky Tundra (30-Jan) : Now that's a thought, maybe they're looking at the college ranks? Maybe not head coaches but DC/assistant DCs with league experience?
beast (30-Jan) : College Coaches wouldn't want that publicly, as it would hurt recruiting and they might not get the job.
beast (30-Jan) : I thought they were supposed to publicly announce them, at least the NFL ones. Hafley was from college, so I believe different rules.
Mucky Tundra (30-Jan) : Who knows who they're interviewing? I mean, nobody knew about Hafley and then out of nowhere he was hired
beast (30-Jan) : I wonder what's taking so long with hiring a DL coach, 2 of the 3 known to interview have already been hired elsewhere.
Zero2Cool (27-Jan) : Packers coach Matt LaFleur hires Luke Getsy as senior assistant, extends Rich Bisaccia's deal

Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
