Barry Sanders Jr to Replace Andrew Luck's Star at Stanford

Stanford is reportedly set to introduce its next big name college football player this weekend.

Barry J. Sanders is expected to announce his intention to accept a scholarship to play running back on the Farm.

If the name sounds familiar, you're not alone. Barry J. Sanders is the son of NFL Hall of Fame running back Barry Sanders.

The former Detroit Lions running back was in Palo Alto in September with his son visiting Stanford. The family was reportedly choosing between Stanford and the elder Sanders' alma mater Oklahoma State.

The 5-foot-11, 195 pound running back was highly recruited out of Heritage Hall High in Oklahoma City.

Last season he ran for 1,324 yards and 27 touchdowns and he has been clocked running the 40-yard dash in 4.31 seconds.

Sanders Jr. is expected to make the announcement officially on Saturday at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.

The news will lessen the blow for Stanford of losing in the Fiesta Bowl last week and preparing for life without start quarterback Andrew Luck, who has announced he will enter April's NFL Draft.

Whenever he comes out to play pro ball, The Packers better not pass on him(if they have a shot) like they did his dad!!!!!!
