I know you always want homefield advantage but am I the only one that thinks that a team like the current Packers or the 2010 Packers are better suited for a Dome? Like if someone asked me would I rather play a running team like the 49ers in Lambeau or in a Dome (I know the 49ers do not play in a Dome), I would take the Dome. We rely on the pass a ton and it is not always there for you in cold weather or windy conditions.

It is just the nature of the beast when you play in the cold. Like I did not think Rodgers was going to be able to maintain his numbers in December when I saw the schedule in December - it is just harder to throw. That is why I think Brady is better than Manning, Brady does it outdoors whereas Manning always has had a dome. And that is why this years MVP race is kind of unfair as Brees gets to play his last two games in a Dome and Rodgers has to play outside in the cold.

I don't know, it is a crazy thought I guess, but I would rather have the Packers play on the road in Cowboy stadium or @ the Falcons than at home. Like that game @ the Bears last year in the NFC championship game was scary to watch - the D won that game for us and this year I don't think the D is as good. If we played the Bears in a Dome, I think our O would have killed them.

My hope is that basically the other team is also hurt by the cold weather. Like the Saints, I think we win because they are going to suck on the road. But a team like the Falcons or Cowboys or 49ers, I think the cold weather helps the underdog as it generally keeps the game closer. Its strange but I actually think in January, I'd rather play the Falcons or Cowboys in their stadium than at home.

It's a good question.

While Rodgers and company are excellent outdoors, my sense is they're even better on turf and indoors.

I wouldn't want them to have to play in New Orleans against Brees and company, but weather does have the ability to disrupt the deeper passing game, and given the Packers defensive issues, I'd rather rely on winning a shootout than a three-yards-and-a-cloud-of-frozen-dust slugfest.

2010, 2011, our home record is 13-1 so far.

In December at home last year, we scored 34 points, 10 points, and 45 points.

Maybe da Bears' game was an aberration?

I think home is an advantage. But if we have to play away a dome seems to be better for us than an open stadium with grass

I'm not pulling this stat out of my ass. I actually saw this in a Sociology book of all places. Home team wins over 60% of the time in the NFL. I forgot the exact percentage.

This was back in the early 90s but I doubt the percentage changed that much.

Yes, we are a passing team. But the 12th man gives you a huge morale advantage. Especially screaming Packers fans. There isn't a single player on the Packers who wouldn't just love to do the Lambeau Leap.

The Raiders game was 43 degrees. Our O scored 39 points (we got a fumble return TD).

The Bucs game was 32 degrees with 25 wind chill factor. That would kill 25% of Californians. 🇦🇷 threw 3 TD passes and 299 yards.

Last year, I don't have the weather reports, but we played 3 home games in December. Against the Niners, 🇦🇷 threw for 298 yards and 3 TDs. We all know we bombed against da Bears and barely won. Against the Giants, 🇦🇷 threw for 404 yards and 4 TDs.

So maybe we're worried about nothing? Let's not forget Brett Favre was Mr. December in the Cold when he was 🇦🇷's age.

I think you have a good point. We are a pass heavy team, but we went on the road last year. I want them to play in front of the home crowd this time round.

At Woodson's best ('09 and '10), I'd take Woodson with any of the above except for Reggie. CM3 > any of them too except Reggie.

My worry is that Rodgers is going have to have 3 miraculous games come playoff time in order to win and I just don't see it.... The Saints shredded us the first game and can easily do it again. While our offense is still scoring points for the most part, rodgers hasn't looked terrifically efficient in the passing game as he was earlier.

Last year we didn't have this great offense but I actually felt more confident going into the playoffs last year knowing the kind of defense we had. Sure some teams scored on us in the playoffs but they had to work to do it and it was always under 30 points... This year it just looks scary how easily teams pound on our defense..

The big key ( on offense) might be the fact that early on we had clifton and sitton. Ever since Clifton went down we have not looked as comfortable and Rodgers has been hit way more. So they key may be to get Clifton, Sitton and Bulaga back to health and playing well in the playoffs.

I'm more worried about Finley hanging onto the ball than I am about the weather.
If Bulaga can come back, we'll have Lang and Sitton on the inside, with Starks and Saine presumably busting out runs. Grant's come on strong too.

beast (26m) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (26m) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (10h) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (10h) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (12h) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (13h) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job

Zero2Cool (14h) : Thank you
wpr (14h) : Z, glad you are feeling better.

Zero2Cool (14h) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (14h) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (14h) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (15h) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (15h) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (15h) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (15h) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (15h) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic

Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Oh snap!!!
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Even Stevie Wonder can see that.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Nah, you see Lions OC leaving to be HC of Bears is directly related to Packers.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ohhhhhhh Zero is in TROUBLE
packerfanoutwest (21-Jan) : Zero, per your orders, check Bearshome, not packershome
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Then he'll land with another team and flourish.
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Ben going to Bears. He'll be out in 3 years.
