I was looking through the player stats on nfl.com and i came across this. Our leading tackler which is A.J. Hawk has 63 tackles. Some teams have multiple players with more than 63 tackles. What does this mean? Does it mean we just don't have that superstar that always finds their way to the ball? Is it that someone different just steps up each game? Or am I just looking at something that means nothing?

It's a function of numerous reasons, the most important one possibly being the limited number of snaps our guys have received due to injury or planned rotation. Notice how Chillar and Pop are close to topping 63 tackles. Each would have done so had they not shared time. If Bigby had played all 12 games, could he have been at that number? How about Barnett? Nick Collins?

We're also plus on time of possession, meaning our defense is on the field less than other defenses, which equals fewer opportunities.

It really doesn't mean anything.

It can also mean how good the defense is playing I mean when it comes to pass incomplete's so there is no tackle going on ... or as we have seen in the past weeks how bad the defense getting burned on some plays miss tackles ... could be anything but I don't know why hawk is underpeforming this year.

No it's not because of incompletions it is poor tackling after the catch.
