I now call this team's malady the "Wizard of Oz Syndrome"....no heart, brains or courage.

Stupid play week in, week out; a lack of fire in their body language and performance; and an unwillingness to try something different when what is being done just does not work.

Sanders needs to be gone, as does Campen probably. And don't even get me goong on Mike Stock who provided the gift that keeps on giving.....Derek Frost.

Just a bad team.

I think at time coaching is bad but the team as a whole feel you are wrong,o-line played with allot of heart D.D gives his all even when hurt A-rod played very good,Tasuher played hurt,D-line had it going for awhile but special teams forget it that is what hurt period.

Been saying this for weeks.. this team lacks focus, disipline and fire.. which leads to inconsistent showings.

This is nothing new.. people try to write it off as lack of experience and youth.. that ship sailed last year.. not this year. Most of the starters on this roster have more than 2 years of playing experience under them.. I showed that in a post a few weeks ago.

Something is off with this team... Is it lack of leadership?

This team has been through the wringer this year.. from the parting of company of a longtime player to the constant needling of questions, to a series of injuries to a few key players.

Other teams have faced these challenges and have managed to carry on and win games... some have not.. we are a team that has not.

I see talent on this team.. so I doubt that is the issue, we are not the same thinly layered team we were in the end of the Wolf days and into the Sherman years.. but we lack that fire in the belly this year.

This team had the motivation early in the year, they talked openly about proving people wrong.. that they were more than just a single player.. but the disappeared early in the year..

You see a few players with that fire in there eyes to win and win at all costs.. but it isn't widespread that we can see on the field on Sundays.. and that is honestly the most disappointing part for me.

I can handle losing when you play a pretty solid game overall.. but the amount of mental mistakes this team has made this season.. it is disappointing.

Don't confuse that with calling this team a pile of wimps.. because that just isn't the case at all.. take Wells yesterday as an example.. got a concussion early in the game but kept playing because it was on the line.. it cost the team possibly in that bad snap.. kid wanted to win..

We need another impact player in the box on defense and a few along the offensive line.. we need the backend of our defense to get healthy again and we need a punter that won't shank at least one punt a game..

We are a solid football team that is missing a fiery presence to them.. someone on the defense with the attitude of Harris but on the inside. An enforcer.. someone that is pissed 3/4 of the time that someone got a yard on them... A Wayne Simmons type of nasty player.. someone even their teammates are a tiny bit scared of.. A solid pass rush would help to. 😉

In my opinion, one of the biggest problems is lack of leadership.
McCarthy doesn't appear to be the strong leader I thought he would be.
Sanders doesn't appear to have any leadership qualities, nor does Stock.
Every team has to have a fiery, kick ass coach who can rattle some cages and it's not always the headcoach.

On the field a team needs a couple of players who isn't afraid to call out poor play and put some fear in players.

I just don't see any fiery vocal leaders from the headcoach on down.

No leadership= no focus.

Hey 93....Wayne Simmons is the player I always cite when the Packers slip into finesse mode....which we seem to have done this season. They need SOMEBODY to light the fuse on things. McGinn's article was pretty spot on...we have a lot of talent, but this team lacks enthusiasm and fire.

Something needs to change, and the locker room talk this week should be jobs are on the line....players and coaches.

That said, Rodgers is a star in the making, and Brandon Jackson looks like the new starter now that Grant has gotten paid....and subsequently lazy. Dude gets hit and he goes down or backwards....no fight!! BJack keeps churning and makes some additional yardage....shows spirit and competitiveness.

I see that in Harris since he came back this year.. Woodson at times.. but I don't see a guy that fires the team up.. or maybe this team just lacks that intensity overall.. to many of the laid back types and not enough of the Alpha Male traits on this defense.

What I won't do to have a "Mad Dog" Douglass type backer on this team... someone that just had a swagger about them that spoke "one mean SOB"..

We really need to get healthy on defense, and that's probably not going to happen this season. Our D showed what they are capable of against Indy and against Chicago, but we are missing some key components now. We don't have a true middle linebacker. The guys in our secondary who aren't out with injuries are playing banged up. The offense looks like it still has that fire, but the defense is lagging. Should we have gone for it on that 4th down instead of taking a field goal? Yeah, probably. But points weren't exactly easy to come by at that point in the game, so I understand why McCarthy ended up sending out the field goal unit.

A very disappointing loss. We're scoring points, but we're giving up much too much.

he should have thrown the ball on 2cnd and 3rd down if needed. He tried to play hard nosed ball with a team that isn't hard nosed. He should know his team better than anyone. We play too soft in all aspects of the game. Heads would be rolling today on the special teams. I'd be pulling every guy with a nagging injury into the trainers room and I'd be giving them a stern talk about the importance of getting in and staying in shape. It's too late now, but you can send a very strong message to the guys who hope to be back next year. Then I'd pull Hawk aside and I'd tell him in no uncertain terms we chose you at #5 to be an impact player, it's time for you to step it up and become that player. If I were McCarthy I then walk into Ted Thompson's office and say that's enough of this hoarding cap money when we have huge holes on both sides of the line. Spend some money and let's get some quality veterans in here who can play. We're close enough in talent now where two quality free agents can turn this team into a super bowl contender if they can develop some toughness.
