Flynn is a free agent after this season.

The trade deadline has passed.

The market will determine the price of his services. The Packer are limited to a 3rd round compensatory pick in 2013 if he is signed elsewhere.

If you are the cap guy do you throw millions at Flynn to keep him on the bench or gamble with Graham Harrell?

If you are the GM do you risk a championship run by not having a competent back up available for 4 to 5 weeks if the starting QB gets victimized by a cheapshot?

Since Flynn was a 7th round pick, and things are going well with Rodgers, I bet they gamble with Harrell and make a profit on Flynn.

Given the recent history of Packers free agents not making as much on the open market as some fans and pundits expected, another possible option would be to resign Flynn and then try to trade him later. There would certainly be risks associated with such a maneuver, however, and I don't really see Ted Thompson making that gambit unless there is no interest at all in Flynn, which also strikes me as unlikely.
