QBs: Aaron Rodgers, Matt Flynn, & Graham Harrell. (3)
Analysis: I understand the logic of keeping two QBs, but when you have three NFL QBs, you keep all three. To clarify, I think Harrell is a No. 2 on many rosters. You can't let him walk.

RBs: Ryan Grant, James Starks, John Kuhn, & Alex Green. (4)
Analysis: Brandon Saine is not making this team. I saw absolutely nothing to suggest otherwise. He was a player that was well known because he went to a major college program. As for Quinn Johnson, he’s not a special teams asset. I understand the two FB mentality, but Tom Crabtree and Ryan Taylor are capable of filling those roles.

WRs: Greg Jennings, Jordy Nelson, Donald Driver, James Jones, & Randall Cobb. (5)
Analysis: The Fab Five.

TEs: Jermichael Finley, Ryan Taylor, D.J. Williams, & Andrew Quarless (4)

Analysis: Quarless’ blocking has improved enough to beat out Crabtree. I think the last spot comes down to those two.

OTs: Chad Clifton, Bryan Bulaga, Marshall Newhouse, & Derek Sherrod. (4)
Analysis: Pretty self-explanatory. Sherrod is the backup LT and Newhouse gets looks at RT.

OGs/Cs: Josh Sitton, Scott Wells, T.J. Lang, Nick McDonald, & Caleb Schlauderaff (5)
Analysis: Risky to keep McDonald as the backup center, but I think that is what their grooming him for. If there is a free agent brought in from the outside, interior OL is the spot.

DL: B.J. Raji, Mike Neal, Ryan Pickett, Jarius Wynn, C.J. Wilson & Howard Green (6)
Analysis: Six is risky, but the you don't need a lot in a 3-4. Plus, the Packers teach their NTs to play DE anyways.

LBs: Clay Matthews, Erik Walden, Frank Zombo, Vic So’oto, Jamari Lattimore, Desmond Bishop, A.J. Hawk, D.J. Smith, Cardia Jackson & Robert Francois. (10)
Analysis: Yeah, 10 LBs. You can never have too many in the 3-4 and I think these 10 guys earned a spot. Furthermore, I think you have to consider special teams a factor as to why a guy like Jackson makes it over DL Lawrence Guy.

DBs: Charles Woodson, Tramon Williams, Sam Shields, Jarrett Bush, Davone House, Josh Gordy, Morgan Burnett, Nick Collins, & Charlie Peprah. (9)
Analysis: I think Gordy sticks. Pat Lee has done nothing in his time here to prove he’s worth a roster spot. Right place at the right time in last night’s game.

Specialists: Mason Crosby, Tim Mathsay, & Brett Goode. (3)
Analysis: Business as usual.

Quarless blocking was pretty good at times last year so I'm not sure it's improved. And I'm surprised to not hear anything about his drops which I see as a good sign as it was a problem last year. I never did understand why people is on the bubble...

Schlauderaff has been working 3rd string OG. Why not keep one of the guys that beat him out for 2nd string OG? Dietrich-Smith or Dominguez... Dominguez is a rookie too.

Have Jackson and Francois done enough to earn spots on the team? I don't think they're shown up much. I think a 4th S and give the offense side another player might be nice... like 2nd FB, 6th WR or the TE. You say consider special teams... well Crabtree would help STs and so might the 6th WRs and 4th S.

I understand people being unhappy with Lee's lack of progress and I was rooting for Gordy to take over like Shields did... but I don't see where Gordy has past him. From what I saw Gordy got bad worst than Lee. Lee read the play got in place and got beat... Gordy didn't read the play until it was too late and he had no chance at making a play because he read and reacted too late. Also Lee has more value on STs.

Also I think the team could use a 4th S.

Definitely need 10 total DB's ... it's a passing league.

Quarless is overrated. I think he's a developmental TE, who improved marginally this year. His ceiling is higher than Crabtree, which gives him the edge in my view. I don't like the idea of six WRs and five TEs. That is 11 pass catchers. I could see 10 pass catchers, but not 11. I won't lose sleep over either Quarless or Crabtree getting cut, though. I gave the edge to the guy who has more upside.

Quinn Johnson has not earned a roster spot and the team could easily use Ryan Taylor as a second FB, so I don't think they need to force themselves into keeping a second FB because of the inverted bone they run. Even Tom Crabtree can play that role if he makes it. Same with Pat Lee. Gordy makes it because his ceiling is higher. Plus, Lee is more of a return man. They've filled that slot with Alex Green and Randall Cobb.

Bush is the emergency safety, but that was difficult. I would argue they'd cut a OL before another safety, but that would be a risky move. Eight offensive lineman is almost unheard of. Jackson is certainly on the bubble, so that could open up another spot. He played very well against KC, though. I think Francois made the roster a while ago. I can't see four MLBs better than him on the roster.

I'd rather use Quinn Johnson than Ryan Taylor in short yardage situations.

Packers played 68.6% of their defensive snaps in a 2 - 4 defense with five defensive backs. Packers need 10 defensive backs.

I can't complain about your list. Especially since I have a similar roster.

I kept Johnson at FB but with serious reservations.
EDS at C/OG as I have been reading this week that some feel he has out performed McDonald.
I thought they may be down playing the Zombo injury so I sent him to the IR.
Haven't heard much about Cardia Jackson and I didn't want 10 LBs.
Instead I kept Jennings at S.

It makes me feel a little better taking some of the longer shots with Gordy, Lattimore and Taylor.

I agree that 10 DBs is possible if not likely, but their nickel and dime backs are CBs. Not safeties. I have six CBs on my roster, which is one extra than many teams. In fact, the value of CBs in this defense, is likely because of the 2-4-5 they predominately run.

Do they keep four safeties? Is one CB a tweener? I can see a scenario where Jennings goes on the practice squad and is promoted the moment there is an injury, but Peprah is capable of playing both SS and FS. I think Bush is the emergency safety in my scenario.

Taylor is running with the 1s on special teams and is arguably the second best pass catching TE on the team. He's a seventh round steal. Frankly, he's been more impressive than D.J. Williams and he's capable of playing FB. In actuality, he makes the inverted bone more dangerous. They could motion him out as a WR. He's versatile. Johnson's not. The choice is clear if it's between those two.

With that said, I think they'd let go an extra OL in place of him, though. The third QB opens the door for his departure. That is what makes it trickier. I balanced out my roster. 25 on offense. 25 on defense. Perhaps they cut an extra defensive player, but I think they're deeper on defense. If anything, I could see 26 defense and 24 offense.
