For a quick and dirty reference.. I went back an checked the Giants record and schedule last season...

Week 11 last season they got smoked 41-17 by the Vikings of all teams.. same week, they finished 10-6 and went on a run.

Not saying the Packers repeat the feat.. but the season is not over by any means.. we just have a heck of climb in front of us.

That one is for mattresell.. see I can be optimistic. ;)

We are not the Giants, not even close. We cannot compete with teams of quality, we can barely compete with the abysmal NFC North teams.

I agree. And anyone can say, that the Giants were no good either. Sure I will give you that. But that is a very rare thing...To happen..what happened last year. That is like the Rockies amazing run in MLB for the playoffs. It just doesnt happen year in and year out. And I see no reason why it would be the Packers this year. It looks to me like a lot of people are just holding on to any little thing they can so they dont have to face the reality that this is not a consistant team, and that we are not, and have not for most of the season played like a playoff team.

yeah we definetly can't keep up with the NFC North teams.... I think there is a rather large hole in the wall of the visitors locker room that disagrees with your thought. We are 3-1 in the divison.. i mean do you type with your face and just let whatever comes up on the screen pass??

and the Super Bowl winning Giants struggled against the Lions last year and 1-16 Miami Dolphins beating both teams with a combined score of 6 whole points. REALLY WORLD BEATERS.

how bout not talking about things you have no idea about.. ok. hater.

this ain't over. not by a long shot.

The Packers are looking like a longshot at this point, but no, it is not over yet. This is a topsy-turvy league where you don't know what's going to happen from one week to the next. So I'm going to enjoy the season for as long as I can. There will be plenty of time to analyze it when it's over, regardless of how it turns out.

Earlier in this post I said that I don't agree that we are going to be like the Giants. Don't get me wrong. I know we are still in it. thank God we are in the NFC North. I always look at it like we are still in it until we are out of it, and it is impossibile for the Packers to catch up in the standings. Anything can happen...I will never get the season out of my head when the Packers got in with the Vikings losing to the Cardinals on the last play of the season. Anything can happen...Unfortunatily those situations are few and far between....If I was betting, I wouldnt bet on us just because of what the Giants were able to do last year. I think one key thing that the Packers do not have in their favor is the way they have been dominated on the lines. Because you can have problems in other spots and overcome them. But you win and lose the game in the trenches and if you can't get the job done there consistantly you dont have a shot. And the Packers lines have shown to be very inconsistant IMO.

I am glad you brought this up. I felt that this was the weekend that the Giants got smoked by the Vikings. I remember thinking then "poor Giants, i hope they atleast make the playoffs" and then they ended up winning the Super Bowl. Doh.

Anyways, I've been barking since Week 3, that it will all come together just like the Giants in the end. Don't know whether you like that as a good thing or bad thing. The last game really took our crutch which was our defensive secondary. Now that we stop glorifying out secondary, hopefully the Packers start playing as a team again.
