This is a ways off, but I am interested in this game in particular this season. Detroit will be much improved and I think this will be one of our toughest games all year. Also, I'm thinking they will be our stiffest competition for the Division Championship. I wish Lombardi, instead of just hating that game, would have been as sharp as Dallas and brought it to GB. It's a real advantage for the home team. They don't have to travel on a short week and then have extra days to recuperate and plan for the next team. What are you're thoughts?

I think Detroit can be a problem but I will wait to see if there are injuries or other factors that change the makeup of the game.

I completely agree the Detroit will be our biggest competition for the division. They have been building a great roster in the last 5 years, choosing wisely in the draft. Good for them. I feel that we will split the games and that we will win the division with a 11-5 record to their 9-7 or 10-6. They'll get to the WC game and will lose to the Rams. Mark it, Dude.

I freaking hate playing on Thanksgiving. That's like Detroit's Super Bowl.

Under Lombardi the Packers were 4 wins- 4 losses and 2 ties on Thanksgiving in Detroit from 1959-1968.It is tru e that Lombardi wanted out of that Thanksgiving game in Detroit. This happpened in 1969, but Lombardi had already left Green Bay to become head coach of Washington Redskins.

The NFL decided to play a 2nd Thanksgiving (evening) game in Dallas many years after Lombardi era ended. By that time, there were my more TV net works telecasting NFL games ,not just CBS TV in 1960's

The Packers played the Lions on Thanksgiving in Detroit ever year fro m 1952 to 1968

After 1969, The NFL started rotating NFL opponents for the Thanksgiving game in Detroit . The Packer have much more success playing in Detroit on Thanksgiving since 1986.

The Packers have won games on Thanksgiving in Detroit-1986,2001 ,2007,and 2009.

I understand, but Lombardi was very well respected by Rozelle. If he had pushed and said "OK we'll play on Thanksgiving but we want to play in Green Bay" I believe Lombardi would have had very good odds of getting it. Rozelle would have looked on it as an opportunity to expand the game, which he was very big on and did a very good job with.JMHO

I'm thinking if we can exploit their secondary, we'll win. If their secondary causes us to get "coverage sacks," we could lose.

We play on Thanksgiving,Christmas, and New Years day this season.Going to be a great holiday season for Packer fans this year.I can't wait. Now I just have to schmooze my boss to manipulate my schedule on those days so I don't miss any of the games.Having to work holidays is the downside to having a job in the retail world.

dfosterf (25-Jun) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.
