Bah.

Every generation is convinced that their generation has the monopoly on good music. I could assure you, it isn't so.

There is good and bad music in every generation. My biggest beef with today's kids is they don't know how to have fun. Their music is whiny. "I'm a loser and it's YOUR fault!" And of course, pop music will ALWAYS be complete garbage because the average person lacks taste.

However, the young ones today have put out some pretty dang good stuff. You'll have to dig to find it, but it's there. We had a local bluegrass band led by a 16-year old with his 15 year old brother and 11 year old sister and they were damn good musicians. They of course will never make any money because it's bluegrass and the occasional yuppie will brag about staying true to his blue collar roots and maybe pay homage to it for a weekend, but that's as much money as they'll make before they go off to college and get degrees and live the next 20 years regretting they put money over their hearts.

I gotta give geezer Wade props for taking the time to find out some good music. It's definitely there, amigo. Whatever genre you dig, I can assure you there are young ones who can churn it out and churn it out well.
