This song is significant because it was the "theme song" of most returning from places like Vietnam, where the individual felt personally abandoned. ( A little perspective 😰 )

Same thing. I was trying to show you lads the hurt in the heart of young men leaving for an (at once) very dangerous and unpopular place.

Your imagination absolutely sucks when it comes to figuring out the stones it took to do that... in that context.
