According to PFT. Here's the blog entry.

"The talent-heavy Packers launched free agency by focusing on their kicker. A day after losing defensive lineman Cullen Jenkins, they’ve locked up two members of the offense who could have taken their brand new Super Bowl rings into a brand new locker room.

Tyler Dunne of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that fullback John Kuhn has signed a three-year deal to remain in Green Bay.

Kuhn’s agent, Keith Gold, tells Dunne that Kuhn is now one of the highest-paid fullbacks in the league. Earlier today, Vonta Leach secured the top spot, via a three-year, $11 million deal, with $6 million guaranteed.

Earlier today, receiver James Jones decided to stay with the Packers."

And the link.

Very good news. Thanks for the report. Kuhn is a good fit for the Packers.

My next question is whether they will keep Brandon Jackson. I doubt that there's much of a market for him, but the Packers may not have room for four RBs. Maybe they'll wait and see how Ryan Grant looks coming back from his injury. Starks obviously has too much potential to be cut, and Alex Green was drafted too high to make it past waivers to the practice squad.

He almost had to stay after developing a cult following in Green Bay. He's also a very good short yardage RB. I love the lineup of Quinn Johnson and B.J. Raji in the backfield along with Kuhn at RB. I want to see more of that this season.

Plenty of room in our backfield:

FB: John Kuhn, Quinn Johnson
RB: Ryan Grant, James Starks, Alex Green

Add in Randall Cobb and DJ Williams occasionally lining up in the back field, and we are stacked!

Good to see him stay in the fold. I'm not sure he's one of our best or most important guys. And I'm not sure if he "deserves" to be one of the highest paid FBs in the league. But I do know that I like how he carries himself and the psychological lift he somehow manages to provide to the team.
