A lot of Browns fans wanted another wide receiver added to the mix.
Instead, they’ve added another running back to an-already promising backfield.
Florio has learned via a league source that running back Brandon Jackson has joined the Browns on a two-year, $4.5 million contract. The Browns want Peyton Hillis to play fewer snaps this year, and Jackson is a very capable third-down option.
The team also has 2010 second round pick Montario Hardesty coming back from injury, but the team doesn’t have to rely on him too much.
Jackson developed into a fine pass blocker over the years and can help diversify Cleveland’s offense. We’ve said it before, but it’s a good thing Hillis got on the Madden cover this year because we doubt he’ll get the ball so much again.
