Mark Tauscher and Brady Poppinga immediately jump out. I cannot imagine the Packers bring either back for the money they're due to make. Johnny Jolly is also a distinct possibility, though I don’t think the NFL’s even reinstated him yet.

Would I be correct in assuming that until a player is reinstated, his salary does not count against the cap?

Who have the Packers released so far? The title is "more" releases coming, so that tells me that they have already released some players.

I don't understand this argument. What does the Packers releasing Tauscher have anything to do with his becoming a coach? If anything, releasing him would facilitate the process of becoming a coach. Is a person even allowed to coach in the NFL while still being under contract to a team?

My commit about him getting cut was because if he's cut it might mean he's still looking to play another year if a team will sign him. Also cutting a player then signing them as a coach (which can be done, no problem) doesn't look as nice as the player retiring and becoming a coach (kind of like LS Rob Davis did though he's not a coach, but more in the management of players).

And yes I believe a player can coach and play at the same times as long as they're signed as a player before a certain date. Though it doesn't happen because duel roles would be very hard now.
