too grab my full and loyal attention.

I will use Texas Tech as the example, here is a team that plays in the same grueling conference as Texas and Oklahoma, has only one loss but has plummeted out of all BCS rankings because they lost at the wrong time of the year.

Did they just have a bad game? They were enough for a Texas team that beat Oklahoma, yet they looked like they didn't belong on the same field with Oklahoma.

But both Texas and Oklahoma are ranked ahead of them.. even though they beat one straight up.. the BCS sucks.

But because of the nature of the defeat and more importantly the timing, their season and hopes at a title are gone.

The system isn't fair and doesn't work, this is nothing new but I am done watching college ball again for the season.

It is time for change here too.. about time to install the playoffs and end this crap.

In the double entendre department, this one is a classic candidate. You may or may not have a spare "d" flying around here, Pack. Personally, I think you are dead square balls on accurate (another industry term--catchin' the Melissa T. fascination? ) - no matter what the initial intent might have been. :thumbleft:

Edit-- I see ya' "fixed" it--shoulda left it... :thumbleft:

I am so used to complaining about Colledge that is just slipped.. you should hear me on gameday.. that poor feller.

Seriously.. though on the BCS.. it takes the excitement out of the game.. teams should earn it on the field not a bunch of ninny picking money men that won't let go of the old bowl tradition.

I hate it.. every year if fails.. but I guess every year I tune back in until about this time of the year.. repeat cycle.

Damn I hate addictions. 😉

Why play the game if you expect the rankings to dictate the outcome?

Oklahoma Demolished Tech. Tech "just barely" beat Texas. Honestly BCS or not, Oklahoma is and should be ranked higher.

That's exactly why I like the FCS play-off system. They take the top 16 teams,(not necessarily ranked 1-16, but consider schedule and league) and have a play-off. You gotta perform during the season and especially in the play-offs, or it's one and done!
My Montana Grizzlies have been in the play-offs a record 16 years in a row now, and play Texas State here in Missoula this Saturday. Going to be cold and snowy for those Texans.

Here is the problem I have...

Oklahoma beats Tech.. fine rank them higher no doubt.

But Texas beat the Sooners.. so does Texas go ahead of OK?

But then.. Tech beats the Longhorns and yet they are ranked behind them (8th).

How does the BCS determine whom gets the right, if any of these teams do to play in the championship game.

It doesn't work.. I would be willing to bet the any of these three would destroy everyone but maybe Florida in a title game..

The BCS sucks... needs to go to a 8 team playoff... if you like the BCS rankings.. use that as the lynch pin for the 8.

Zero2Cool (1m) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (2m) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (19m) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (1h) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (1h) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (1h) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (17h) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : two 1sts in 2022 and two 2nd's in 2023 and 2024
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers had fortunate last three drafts.

dfosterf (14-Apr) : Maybe send a crew of Angels to the Packers draft room on draft day.
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I am the Angel that gets visited.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Visiting Angels has a pretty good reputation
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : what
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : WINNING IT, not someone else losing it. The best victory though was re-uniting with his wife
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : The manner in which he won it was just amazing and wonderful. First blowing the lead then getting back, then blowing it. But ultimately

Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : I don't recall that he did which is why I asked.
Zero2Cool (10-Apr) : Guessing they probably knew. Did he have cast or something on?
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : Did they know that at the time or was that something the realized afterwards?
Zero2Cool (9-Apr) : Van Ness played most of season with broken thumb

Mucky Tundra (2-Apr) : Who?
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : Texas’ WR Isaiah Bond is scheduled to visit the Bills, Browns, Chiefs, Falcons, Packers and Titans starting next week.
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : Spotting ball isn't changing, only measuring distance is, Which wasn't the issue.
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : The spotting of the ball IS the issue. Not the chain gang.
Mucky Tundra (2-Apr) : Will there be a tracker on the ball or something?
Zero2Cool (1-Apr) : uh oh
Martha Careful (1-Apr) : Too bad camera's can't spot the ball as well.
Mucky Tundra (1-Apr) : So will the chain gang be gone completely or will they still be around as a backup or whatever?
Zero2Cool (1-Apr) : The method for measuring first downs in the NFL will switch from chain gangs to camera-based technology in 2025, the league announced.
Martha Careful (1-Apr) : A big step in the right direction. Just put in the college system is very very good.
Zero2Cool (1-Apr) : NFL has passed a rule that allows both teams to possess the ball in OT during the regular season
Zero2Cool (1-Apr) : Touchbacks on kickoffs will now bring the ball to the 35-yard line.
beast (31-Mar) : It might of gotten more popular recently, but braiding hair (even men) in certain cultures goes back for centuries.
