Chinese just hacked the Pentagon. Classified material from a "thumb device" disappeared while a sailor-boy was using it. They are worm-impregnated at the puzzle-palace. This was always considered a pre-cursor to war with China.

In the event that the big balloon goes up, and we are all wiped from the face of the earth in the next few minutes, hours, day, weeks or months...
well, just remember the most important thing, Dfosterf was right!

Have a nice day.

Just duck and cover. The blast and heat, well if you know about it afterwards, you're doin' pretty good, trust me. Wet the old index finger, get your wind direction, hop on your bike (EMP issues) and travel into the wind (dependent upon where GZ is, ironically, the closer you are the better to dodge the Alpha, beta, gamma and neutron-induced radiation...just gotta sorta-skip by GZ and get upwind)...

Not the biggest concern, though...I don't want to lose my internet connection...that would piss me off. :thumbleft:

Oh, don't forget to get the cloud-burst height, stem width, and estimated distance you were at the time the device goes off, and make a mental note of that as well... who knows, there is a possibility someone will be left that will be know what to do with the data (simplified fallout prediction will be handy in this situation).

Also, you might want to try and steer clear of potential strategic assets, and head for your nearest ocean-going sailboat... I'll see ya somewhere in the southern hemisphere, I'd imagine. (Man, my ass is gonna be sore from that bike seat.)

:thumbleft:

If we don't knock the Earth off it's axis and still have air, kindly contact Al Gore and tell him the Global Warming thing can be placed on the back-burner, what with the Nuclear Winter and all. Next, get ahold of Ted Thompson and find out exactly what the plan is for next season... I'd be willing to bet the incompetent SOB doesn't even have an effective plan to keep us competitive.

Update:

See southern hemisphere reference above. President Bush is headed to Peru.

1.3 Billion happy chinese is a good thing.

China state media blast new Guns N' Roses album
Nov. 24, 2008, 7:24 AM EST

BEIJING (AP) -- A newspaper published by China's ruling Communist Party is blasting the latest Guns N' Roses album as an attack on the Chinese nation.

Delayed since recording began in 1994, "Chinese Democracy" hit stores in the U.S. on Sunday, although it is unlikely to be sold legally in China, where censors maintain tight control over films, music and publications.

In an article Monday headlined "American band releases album venomously attacking China," the Global Times said unidentified Chinese Internet users had described the album as part of a plot by some in the West to "grasp and control the world using democracy as a pawn." [img_r]http://www.therockradio.com/axl-rose.jpg[/img_r]

The album "turns its spear point on China," the article said.

China's Foreign Ministry did not respond to faxed questions about the article, although a spokesman speaking on routine condition of anonymity said: "We don't need to comment on that."

Spokesmen for the Culture Ministry and State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, government bodies that regulate album releases and performances, could not be reached for comment.

The Global Times article referred only to the title of the album and not to specific song lyrics. The record's title track makes a reference to the Falun Gong meditation movement that was banned by China as an "evil cult" and warns "if your Great Wall rocks blame yourself," in an apparent message to the country's authoritarian government.

Songs from the album could be heard on Internet sites such as YouTube and the band's MySpace page on Monday and it was not immediately possible to tell whether China's Internet monitors were seeking to block access to it.

Monitors use content filters that highlight and sometimes block messages containing words such as democracy. That prompted some Internet users to combine English and Chinese characters in their postings about the album to skirt such monitoring.

China approves only limited numbers of foreign films and recordings for distribution each year, partly due to political concerns but also to protect domestic producers.

Live performances are also closely regulated, with bands forced to submit set lists beforehand. The Rolling Stones were asked not to play several songs with suggestive lyrics during their 2006 China debut, including "Brown Sugar," "Honky Tonk Woman," "Beast of Burden" and "Let's Spend the Night Together."

Earlier this year, bandleader Harry Connick Jr. was forced to make last-minute changes to his show in Shanghai because an old song list was mistakenly submitted to Chinese authorities to secure the performance permit for the concert. Authorities insisted he play the songs on the original list, even though his band did not have the music for them.

That came just a week after Icelandic singer Bjork embarrassed authorities by shouting "Tibet!" at the end of a Shanghai concert, prompting stricter vetting of foreign performers.

Despite such restrictions, computer file sharing and pirating of DVDs, computer games and music CDs is rampant in China, meaning that much banned material is available through alternative channels.

Well, San Francisco has the most famous Chinatown in America. I'm safe. Los Angeles is doomed. No loss though. I hate that city.

Mucky Tundra (13h) : @DavidBearmanPFN · 18h Vegas has watched Will Levis for 3 weeks and installed them as a 1-point favorite in Miami next week. Let that sink
Mucky Tundra (14h) : Martha, they did play much better with Dalton yesterday
Zero2Cool (15h) : Test results on Sam Darnold’s knee showed a knee bruise and no structural damage. He is not expected to miss any time.
Martha Careful (18h) : Not with Dalton apparently
Mucky Tundra (23-Sep) : Not sure what to make of the NFC South so far this season (outside of the Panthers being a dumpster fire)

buckeyepackfan (22-Sep) : I think J-10VE will be inactive, a little twist that could be put in is run a wildcat with Wicks at qb. Have him as emergency qb if needed.
Zero2Cool (21-Sep) : I think that's how it works.
Zero2Cool (21-Sep) : I'd go 3 QB regardless this game.
Zero2Cool (21-Sep) : Clifford was elevated, not activated. He doesn't play, it doesn't count.
hardrocker950 (21-Sep) : If Clifford is active, not likely to see Jordan play this weekend

Zero2Cool (18-Sep) : Practicing is Jordan Love!
