Another solid victory in week 2, against a woeful Bills team.

Jordy Nelson looked good on KOs again. Returned one to the 35 and one to the 40. Didn't get too many opportunities today, being that the Bills weren't kicking off much.

-12:55 1st, Quinn Johnson showed soft hands on a reception out of the backfield. Looked smoother than Roger Craig on that play.
-Rodgers was definitely working the hard count today. I think it's something that he really started to do this season. Make guys jump offsides and then throw deep on the free play. Unfortunately we had a few false starts today too.
-11:58, Arodge has to spend a timeout. The defense was showing some weird blitz, and Arodge couldn't adjust in time.
-7:45 Tried to force it to Finley, was very nearly INT'd. More of a drop by the defender. Finley had a number of beautiful catches in this game. When he gets open and catches it in stride, WOW.
-We settled for FGs on our first two drives. Thus, the half ended with us leading 13-7, which was closer than I'd have liked it to be. But we blew it wide open in the 2nd half.
-I counted SIX drops by Jones. Plus a fumble. He did have a big TD late. But these were plays on the sideline, where his foot was out, or there was a defender there and he didn't make the play. Not "drops" per se, they weren't all obvious TDs like most of them on the "JJ Lowlight Reel." But for a guy who never goes over the middle, you might want him to be able to get his feet in bounds on some of those, being a sideline specialist. Especially the one at 2:24 in the 1st, on which Mike McCarthy wasted a replay. There was a comment in an earlier article about Cobb, saying how he can adjust well "on the fly." I think that's one problem with JJ. When he has to turn at high speed and adjust to the ball, I think it effects his concentration at times.
-:21, 2nd quarter, we got the ball back with 21 seconds left and Mike McCarthy just ran the ball up the gut to drain the clock. We were only up 6 at the time. I don't like that. I'd like him to at least take a shot on those. He always concedes in those situations. Pull out a hook and lateral or something, Mike!
-How does Kuhn do it? He'll cut on a dime and hit the open field, but you just don't think he has enough speed to get to the 1st down markers. LOL. Yet somehow he does. Usually falls forward too. Doesn't waste time going east west.
-1:56 3rd quarter, Rodgers scrambles around the right side for a TD. This followed the play where JJ caught the ball for a short gain, but then fumbled. Bjack fell on it to retain possession, but we lost like 6-7 yards on the play. This put us up 27-7 for the dagger, but if that would have been a turnover, this game could've gotten close.
-11:41, 4th. JJ with a big TD down the right sideline. Had to do a 180 and come down with it. He did, and practically walked into the end zone. It was a wobbly throw though. Rodgers had a few wobbly throws in this game.
-9:40, under 10 minutes left in the game, with the Pack up 34-7 and Arodge comes back into the game. I thought they could have sat him down there. Trent Edwards wasn't doing jack shit through the air in this game. Or perhaps ever.

Defensive Highlights:
-Marshawn Lynch was featured in this game. This was during all the hearsay that we'd trade for him due to the Grant injury. Lynch looked good, imo. Had about 5 ypc at the half, had about 4 going into the 4th quarter. I thought they ran the ball pretty effectively on us. Just had no passing game whatsoever, which pretty much put the fork in them when they were down by 27 in the 4th.
-10:44, 1st quarter. Jenkins was the only Dlineman on this play. CMIII absolutely destroyed Trent Edwards for a 13 yard loss, forcing a punt. Clay had a couple of huge sacks for losses like that. A number of tackles in the backfield too. Iirc, he came out of this game on pace to break the all time sack record, with 6 so far on the season.
-11:39 2nd quarter, there was a huge PI on Woody for a gain of like 30 yards. This, combined with some decent running resulted in the Bills' only score of the day. It seemed like Woody drew quite a few flags this year. He was playing overly aggressive, hopefully not compensating for having lost a half of a step due to age.
-12:49, 3rd Trent Edwards getting crushed by Hawk and Woody gets the ball away at the last second and it goes through the WRs hands right to Chillar for the INT.
-7:44 3rd, the other crushing sack by CMIII.
-14:13 wicked strip by Morgan Burnett. The rookie read the screen, came up to make the play and knocked the ball loose. It never hit the ground and he caught it. Beautiful play. This dude is gonna be as good as Nick Collins, and I think Nick Collins is very very good.

Overall, a solid performance against a team we were expected to beat. They went out there, fought hard and won the game solidly.

One of my favorite plays of the game was when the Bills QB looked to his left, noticed Clay was coming in at him and JUMPED as if he saw a ghost. I was laughing so hard I had tears.

Great stuff, nerdman. Keep em coming.

I went to this game. Home opener. Matthews did his WWF pose right in front of us in the endzone after a sack. Met Frank Winters really quick in Curley's Pub after the game. Good times.

Another nice write-up. (I'm late posting because I was out of town for three days.)

A couple more good kick returns by Jordy. I forgot about that. So it was two games in a row where the return game looked good.

Six drops by Jones? Er, no, apparently you are counting catches with feet out of bounds as "drops" or something. You really lost me there.

I'm not sure that Woodson had a lot of penalties in 2010. I was thinking he had more the year before. I could be wrong. The entire secondary really cleaned up their pass interference penalties in 2010.

Zero2Cool (21h) : I guess 3 games. Whatever
Zero2Cool (21h) : Bleh, that only impacts two games.
Zero2Cool (21h) : Packers are gonna get 3rd place division schedule next year.
Mucky Tundra (22h) : Kanata, seek help! lol
beast (27-Dec) : I was rooting for the Bears to win and hurt their draft pick status
Zero2Cool (27-Dec) : Forgot there was even a game last night haha
TheKanataThrilla (27-Dec) : That was terrible.
TheKanataThrilla (27-Dec) : Watching that game in its entirety yesterday is proof positive that I am a football addict.
beast (27-Dec) : And horrible time management multiple times... and not being able to score more than 3 points on a team with talent
beast (27-Dec) : Realizing the Bears didn't fix it from the previous week and do the same thing, getting the game to overtime
beast (27-Dec) : They probably are not tanking, but they've absolutely mismanagement some things, such as Vikings seeing the Packers blocked FG and realizing
Zero2Cool (27-Dec) : Crazy of Bears to have that mindset that is
Zero2Cool (27-Dec) : Hail Mary stop away from 5 - 2. Not sure how that flips to tanking. Crazy mindset if true
beast (27-Dec) : I've quietly questioned if Bears are tanking on purpose... they suddenly got a lot worse with some simple concepts like 101 clock management
wpr (27-Dec) : Watching bares fans melt down over how putrid their team is, so enjoyable. It's the gift that keeps on giving.
Mucky Tundra (27-Dec) : The Seattle Seahawks defeat the Chicago Bears 6-3. Jason Myers had 6 RBIs for Seattle while Cairo Santos had 3 RBI for Chicago
beast (27-Dec) : Not nessarily, he might of been injured either way. He's playing about 50% of the games the last 4 years
Zero2Cool (26-Dec) : If they'd been more patient with him, he'd be back already. Putting him out there vs Bears caused him to tweak it and here we are.
packerfanoutwest (26-Dec) : well this is his last season with the PAck, book it
beast (26-Dec) : Sounds like no Alexander (again), I'm wondering if his time with the Packers is done
Zero2Cool (26-Dec) : Could ban beast and I still don't think anyone catches him.
Mucky Tundra (26-Dec) : Houston getting dog walked by Baltimore
packerfanoutwest (25-Dec) : Feliz Navidad!
Zero2Cool (25-Dec) : Merry Christmas!
beast (25-Dec) : Merry Christmas 🎄🎁
beast (24-Dec) : Sounds like no serious injuries from the Saints game and Jacobs and Watson should play in the Vikings game
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : both games Watson missed, Packers won
Martha Careful (24-Dec) : I hope all of you have a Merry Christmas!
Mucky Tundra (24-Dec) : Oh I know about Jacobs, I just couldn't pass up an opportunity to mimic Zero lol
buckeyepackfan (24-Dec) : Jacobs was just sat down, Watson re-injured that knee that kept him out 1 game earlier
buckeyepackfan (24-Dec) : I needed .14 that's. .14 points for the whole 4th quarter to win and go to the SB. Lol
Mucky Tundra (24-Dec) : Jacobs gonna be OK???
Zero2Cool (24-Dec) : Watson gonna be OK???
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : Inactives tonight for the Pack: Alexander- knee Bullard - ankle Williams - quad Walker -ankle Monk Heath
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : No Jaire, but hopefully the front 7 destroys the line of scrimmage & forces Rattler into a few passes to McKinney.
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : minny could be #1 seed and the Lions #5 seed
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : We'd have same Division and Conference records. Strength of schedule we edge them
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I just checked. What tie breaker?
bboystyle (23-Dec) : yes its possible but unlikely. If we do get the 5th, we face the NFCS winner
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : Ahh, ok.
bboystyle (23-Dec) : yes due to tie breaker
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I mean, unlikely, yes, but mathematically, 5th is possible by what I'm reading.
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : If Vikings lose out, Packers win out, Packers get 5th, right?
bboystyle (23-Dec) : Minny isnt going to lose out so 5th seed is out of the equation. We are playing for the 6th or 7th seed which makes no difference
Mucky Tundra (23-Dec) : beast, the ad revenue goes to the broadcast company but they gotta pay to air the game on their channel/network
beast (23-Dec) : If we win tonight the game is still relative in terms of 5th, 6th or 7th seed... win and it's 5th or 6th, lose and it's 6th or 7th
