I think Irvin was a more dominant player, but Carter played on more pass-happy teams and played longer so he piled up more stats. Irvin's TDs are very low, but the Cowboys had Emmitt Smith to punch the ball into the end zone. I agree that Carter should be in the hall, though, and I think he will get in during the next few years. There has been a glut of WRs lately, and he's missed out.

While some of what you said has merit..
All Cris Carter did was catch touchdowns.. and arguably had the best set of hands of any WR.
He caught passes that Irvin could only dream of.

I would have liked to see Troy Aikman and Michael Irvin in an offense that revolved around the pass. I think their numbers may have rivaled that of Brett Favre and Sterling Sharpe. Packer fans probably out of spite underestimate the quality of player those two were, especially Aikman from a throwing standpoint. They were every bit as difficult to defend as any passing combination in the league in the early to mid 90s.

And yes, Cris Carter deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. So does Tim Brown for that matter. People forget the level of play the 90s gave us.

As far as Driver, I think his Hall of Fame chances are at about 0% right now. Could that change? Yes, but he would need one more big season and a Super Bowl MVP in order to do it in my opinion.
