I was really surprised at how much Atlanta paid to move up and get Julio Jones. 5 for 1 usually doesn't work out. I think Atlanta will do well with him in their offense. Maybe the missing link for them.

I laughed so hard when Jacksonville jumped up and snatched Gabbert away from Minnesota. Minessota then tried to trade down knowing they were going to be reaching when they took Ponder at 12.

Oh and Detroit's DL is going to take over as the toughest line around now that they picked up Fairley. I liked it better when they kept taking WRs.

Yeah, I think Atlanta just over reacted to the thrashing we gave them in the playoffs and sold their souls for a single player. I feel it'll be a massive blunder. Looks like the Browns should have a lot of picks to bring them back to relevance over the next two drafts.

I can't believe how much Atlanta gave up. It looked like the Herschel Walker trade out there. I will LMFAO if Jones winds up being a bust. Besides, Atlanta isn't a receiver away from the SB, they are an entire defense away from the SB. We didn't wind up punting ONCE against them.

It is a little ironic that Balaga from Woodstock, IL is picked by GB 23rd last year and Carimi from Cottage Grove, Wis is selected by the Bears 29th this year.

Atlanta had the number 5 scoring defense last year and gave up a whooping 2 points more than Chicago did all season. They just ran into an Aaron Rodgers that couldn't be stopped by the hand of God.

That said, they could use another receiver but they have other needs too. They've given up far too much for a receiver that is being criticized for his ability to catch the ball (what the hell else does a receiver do anyway).

The trades made the night a little more interesting. The one I liked the best is the one that never happened.
Baltimore trade with the Bears ran out of time. Baltimore was the loser in the deal. Being made to look bad. I am sure they were holding the Bears up for too much. (Too bad it didn't work out.) When time ran out they were screaming at the Bears camp to call the deal in. All the while the Chiefs were running to the podium to turn their guy in. I am sure the Chiefs thought Chicago wanted another WR. The Bears were concerned that someone would grab Carimi. As I said the Ravens thinking they had a sucker in Chicago. Turns out they were all wrong. The only thing that would have made it better is if Baltimore would have stuck it to Chicago when the Bears reneged on the deal and took Carimi for themselves. Wait, Chicago would have no doubt taken Sherrod and that would have left GB without their draft pick. Never mind.

BBAO: Should Bears lose pick?
It would be funny if they did but I doubt it will happen.

By now you know that the Chicago Bears' otherwise smart initial draft decision was marred by the collapse of a trade designed to ensure they were able to select Wisconsin offensive tackle Gabe Carimi. Bears general manager Jerry Angelo took the blame and apologized to the Baltimore Ravens, who missed their pick at No. 26 overall because they thought they had completed a trade with the Bears to move down to No. 29.

Is the case closed? Or do the Bears owe the Ravens additional compensation, namely the fourth-round pick that would have changed hands if the deal was consummated? David Haugh of the Chicago Tribune thinks the latter.

Haugh: "If Angelo's apology was sincere, and the only thing preventing the trade from being consummated was his sloppy neglect, then the Bears should go ahead and offer to forfeit rights to that selection to the Ravens. That's the right thing to do. Salvaging Angelo's reputation around the league by showing he's a man of his word might be worth whatever fringe roster player might be picked at that slot in the fourth round."

This situation is nearly unprecedented, so I guess it's possible the NFL will force the Bears to forfeit the pick. Dan Pompei of the Tribune reports that the Ravens have asked the league to look into the situation and that Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti has spoken with commissioner Roger Goodell about it. According to Pompei, Angelo instructed two staffers to report the trade to the NFL, but each thought the other was doing it.

But I would be surprised if the NFL took action. Remember, the Minnesota Vikings didn't receive the pick they would have received when the Ravens failed to report a similar trade in 2003.

Biggest blunder pick: Minnesota taking Christian Ponder.

Zero2Cool (14m) : I wanna kill new QB's ... blitz the crap out of them.
beast (14m) : Barry seemed to get too conservative against new QBs, Hafley doesn't have that issue
Zero2Cool (1h) : However, we seem to struggle vs new QB's
Zero2Cool (1h) : Should be moot point, cuz Packers should win tonight.
packerfanoutwest (1h) : ok I stand corrected
Zero2Cool (1h) : Ok, yes, you are right. I see that now how they get 7th
Zero2Cool (1h) : 5th - Packers win out, Vikings lose out. Maybe?
beast (1h) : Saying no to the 6th lock.
beast (1h) : No, with the Commanders beating the Eagles, Packers could have a good chance of 6th or 7th unless the win out
Zero2Cool (1h) : I think if Packers win, they are locked 6th with chance for 5th.
beast (1h) : But it doesn't matter, as the Packers win surely win one of their remaining games
beast (1h) : This is not complex, just someone doesn't want to believe reality
beast (1h) : We already have told you... if Packers lose all their games (they won't, but if they did), and Buccaneers and Falcons win all theirs
Zero2Cool (1h) : I posted it in that Packers and 1 seed thread
Zero2Cool (1h) : I literally just said it.
packerfanoutwest (1h) : show us a scenario where Pack don't get in? bet you can't
Zero2Cool (1h) : Falcons, Buccaneers would need to win final two games.
Zero2Cool (1h) : Yes, if they win one of three, they are lock. If they lose out, they can be eliminated.
packerfanoutwest (1h) : as I just said,,gtheyh are in no matter what
Zero2Cool (1h) : Packers should get in. I just hope it's not 7th seed. Feels dirty.
packerfanoutwest (1h) : If packers lose out, no matter what, they are in
packerfanoutwest (1h) : both teams can not male the playoffs....falcon hold the tie breaker
packerfanoutwest (2h) : if bucs win out they win their division
beast (2h) : Fine, Buccaneers and Falcons can get ahead of us
packerfanoutwest (2h) : falcons are already ahead of us
beast (2h) : Packers will get in
beast (2h) : If Packers lose the rest of their games and Falcons win the rest of theirs, they could pass us... but not gonna happen
packerfanoutwest (2h) : they still are in the playoffs
packerfanoutwest (2h) : If Packers lose the remaining games,,,,at 10-7
Zero2Cool (4h) : We can say it. We don't play.
Mucky Tundra (5h) : But to say they are in is looking past the Saints
Mucky Tundra (5h) : That said, their odds are very favorable with a >99% chance of making the playoffs entering this week's games
Mucky Tundra (5h) : Packers are not in and have not clinched a playoff spot.
buckeyepackfan (6h) : Packers are in, they need to keep winning to improve their seed#.
Mucky Tundra (15h) : Getting help would have been nice, but helping ourselves should always be the plan
beast (15h) : Too bad Seahawks couldn't beat Vikings
bboystyle (15h) : We just need to win Monday night and were in
Mucky Tundra (18h) : Or ties, but let's be real here
Mucky Tundra (18h) : Other scenario was Falcons+Rams losses
Mucky Tundra (18h) : Needed a Falcons loss for a Seahawk loss to clinch
buckeyepackfan (19h) : Am I wring in saying if Tge Vikings beat The Seahawks, The Packers clinch?
Mucky Tundra (21-Dec) : Agreed; you stinks
Zero2Cool (21-Dec) : I'm not beating anyone. I stinks.
Mucky Tundra (21-Dec) : rough injury for tank dell. guy can't catch abreak
beast (21-Dec) : So far the college playoffs have sucked... One team absolutely dominates the other
beast (21-Dec) : Well even if you weren't positive towards a guy, you wouldn't nessarily want to tell the media that (if they don't know about it)
Martha Careful (21-Dec) : I think MLF want Love to look past the end half issues, and feel good about his play. Our coaches generally keep a very positive tone.
beast (21-Dec) : I think a great running game will do that for most QBs
packerfanoutwest (21-Dec) : Coach Matt LaFleur has said quarterback Jordan Love is playing the best football of his career.
beast (21-Dec) : Oh, that's how you keep beating buckeye, with cheating
