I like it, but I've heard that Aaron Williams projects as more of a safety, which we don't need. But he is very athletic and he does have great ball skills. So we'll just have to wait and see what Ted Thompson thinks.

Yes, as i said he's a bit of a tweener, but that makes him versatile/valuable. You can use him like Charles Woodson (of course he's not a Charles Woodson at the moment 😉 ) You can line him up man-to-man on the outside, put him in the slot, let him blitz .... Not a bad thing at all.

Oh okay it was community mock draft then.

Yeah, I meant the first two picks. In that situation, I would have gone Danny Watkins and Jarvis Jenkins.

Still, you get a plus one for the Acho pick. I wouldn't be shocked at all, if the Packers go in that direction in round two or maybe early round three if they move up. He's Packer People. :)

Danny Watkins scared me because of his age. He'll turn 27 in his first season in the NFL. Jarvis Jenkins was not on my board for #64. Besides Young I considered Acho, Iowas DE Christian Ballard and Dontay Moch out of Nevada. The last 2 went shortly after my pick, thank god Acho was still on his way down.

Acho was my personal favourite pick of the Draft.

Wow, it's impressive that 32 people actually did this. It is a lot different from a one-person mock draft (most of which are only one round) because you can see how a GM has to adapt to the situation as it unfolds. Sounds like a lot of fun. I have no idea if you picked the right guys, because I don't pay much attention to college football, but you made a good case for each one of them.

I am willing to throw my hat into the ring for a similar event on PackersHome.

If we could get 16 people together, each person could "adopt" one NFC team and one AFC team. Teams (with the exception of the "plum assignment," Green Bay) could be assigned on a first-come-first-served basis, with the Packers being awarded by lottery after everyone had picked their AFC team.

Perhaps we could even offer a prize to the person who selected the most correct picks for their team. 😃

Thanks for posting this. I think the Packers position and where the tiers stop hurts the Packers... because it seems like the tiers stop before the Packers picks for the most part this year... which would make trading up or back might be good ether way to get more value.

If a few more QBs sneak up into the first that might mean more guys the Packers are interested in fall and maybe trade up. If they don't it might make it very interesting for the teams looking for QBs to grab one with the later picks in the 1st. Meaning the Packers might get good value trading back.

i don't wanna be the party pooper on this, but we had tough timelines (3h fixed window in rounds 1-4 and 2h after the last pick in rounds 5-7) to get it done and it took overall almost 5 weeks. with the draft upcoming in not more than one week, we should move this to next year 😉

totally agree. the board with the top-tier guys was empty after wilkerson (#30). unfortunately no trades (neither up nor down) worked out.

beast (30-Jan) : College Coaches wouldn't want that publicly, as it would hurt recruiting and they might not get the job.
beast (30-Jan) : I thought they were supposed to publicly announce them, at least the NFL ones. Hafley was from college, so I believe different rules.
Mucky Tundra (30-Jan) : Who knows who they're interviewing? I mean, nobody knew about Hafley and then out of nowhere he was hired
