Thinking of taking the girls to see Mount Rushmore. Is it worth the 6hr drive and are there any other activities other than the viewing of the cool rock?

I'll be there later this summer. There's a ton of stuff to do in the badlands and Rapid City area. I believe there's a water park in Rapid City, also lots of hiking available in that area. Reptile Gardens is on the way to Mount Rushmore (I think). There's plenty to do depending on your tastes.

Mount Rushmore Caverns is very cool, don't miss it.
I think most kids would love the under ground adventure. I know I did as an adult.

If you get the chance, stay for the night lighting of the monument. That is really something to see when they crank on 6 bazillion watts of lights and it hits those faces.

At Keystone you can ride a tramway up to a lookout place and see a side view of the faces, but watch out for the plastic deer and squirrels. Tacky, but fun. Hit Wall Drug in Wall SD, and listen for the talking billboards, and take into account the magnificent trees that embrace the landscape.....AKA telephone poles. LOL!
Anyone for a Weenie Roast?

Alan, me too. I think I'm a little closer to it now than when I was in Green Bay and with the vacation time available, figured might as well use it for something fun with the girls. I'm thinking we'll head out April 15th, get a hotel, then spend most of Saturday looking for things of fun to do. Maybe even try to catch a looksie of the monument before hitting the hotel Friday.

Zero, if you wanted to take a walk into some history, you could go check out the Wounded Knee Memorial, but that would eat up a little more time, cause you'd have to drive out to Pine Ridge. Deadwood has that old west feel to it, and you could check out some museums and stuff like that.

I remember being there as a kid. We went to see the Crazy Horse Memorial before we saw Mt. Rushmore. Compared to Crazy Horse Rushmore looked like a dinky little thing.

The sculpture's final dimensions are planned to be 641 feet (195 m) wide and 563 feet (172 m) high. The head of Crazy Horse will be 87 feet (27 m) high; by comparison, the heads of the four U.S. Presidents at Mount Rushmore are each 60 feet (18 m) high.

It was also PACKED at Mt. Rushmore so we just got our look at it and left. What's also cool about Crazy Horse is that it's not finished yet. So you get to look at the progress and see what they have planned for the future. They might also do a blast there live if you're lucky. The badlands were cool but I remember as a kid I got bored pretty quickly.

Zero2Cool (30-Jun) : Dolphins get (back) Minkah Fitzpatrick in trade
Zero2Cool (30-Jun) : Steelers land Jalen Ramsey via Trade
dfosterf (26-Jun) : I think it would be great to have someone like Tom Grossi or Andy Herman on the Board of Directors so he/they could inform us
dfosterf (26-Jun) : Fair enough, WPR. Thing is, I have been a long time advocate to at least have some inkling of the dynamics within the board.
wpr (26-Jun) : 1st world owners/stockholders problems dfosterf.
Martha Careful (25-Jun) : I would have otherwise admirably served
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Also, no more provision for a write-in candidate, so Martha is off the table at least for this year
dfosterf (25-Jun) : You do have to interpret the boring fine print, but all stockholders all see he is on the ballot
dfosterf (25-Jun) : It also says he is subject to another ballot in 2028. I recall nothing of this nature with Murphy
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy is on my ballot subject to me penciling him in as a no.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : I thought it used to be we voted for the whatever they called the 45, and then they voted for the seven, and then they voted for Mark Murphy
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Because I was too lazy to change my address, I haven't voted fot years until this year
dfosterf (25-Jun) : of the folks that run this team. I do not recall Mark Murphy being subject to our vote.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.
Zero2Cool (25-Jun) : Maybe wicked wind chill made it worse?
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : And then he signs with Cleveland in the offseason
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : @SharpFootball WR Diontae Johnson just admitted he refused to enter a game in 41° weather last year in Baltimore because he felt “ice cold”
Zero2Cool (24-Jun) : Yawn. Rodgers says he is "pretty sure" this be final season.
Zero2Cool (23-Jun) : PFT claims Packers are having extension talks with Zach Tom, Quay Walker.
Mucky Tundra (20-Jun) : GB-Minnesota 2004 Wild Card game popped up on my YouTube page....UGH
beast (20-Jun) : Hmm 🤔 re-signing Walker before Tom? Sounds highly questionable to me.
