Am I the only one who doesn't see how the title and the content of the article line up? Title implies lack of depth, but the article goes on to say how good our two #1 RBs are, gushes over Jackson's 3rd down abilities, Kuhn's short yardage running, and a pair of complimentary blocking backs... Yeah, no depth there...

Same thing that I thought right away.

I think we'll name a "starter" but go on to do what McCarthy does: play everybody. He had Hall penciled in as the "starter" all year but Kuhn was very obviously on the field more minus the ST. MM will play both Starks and Grant because they are both talented and there is no stand-out between the two. They will both have plenty of rest and fresh legs because there will be a lot of rotating.

Yeah, Jackson is a very good third DOWN back. Nance is good for a third guy off the bench. I didn't say third down guy. If Jackson isn't back, Kuhn can do pass pro. I think Starks can get it done too, which would be ideal. Starks definitely has the size to get it done.
The dude in the article questions the depth, but having two guys who can start IS depth.

My mistake then.

Nance has no place on this roster, none.

MARK IT DOWN! I stand by my prediction. I've been saying it since before Starks was even activated, btw.
Not that I don't like Grant, but Starks doesn't have Grant's limitations.

Both guys should get a decent amount of burn. Starks will prolong his career and Ryan Grant can be a great mentor to Starks. Both have similar stories (came to GB for 6th round picks, low expectations, got called up late in the year for serious playoff runs). Mike has got to be thrilled with his top 2 RBs.

I think our focus should really be on the offensive line. They were the reason for our running struggles this past season, not the running backs.

"The latter question is what makes running back an intriguing position in this years draft. The crop of running backs in this draft isnt star-studded, but it has some depth to it and the top of the class seems to fit nicely with where the Packers are picking in the first two rounds".

The only way I see Ted Thompson taking a RB in the first two rounds is if Ingram happens to fall all the way to #32 and only then because he would be the BPA. Leshoure and Williams probably won't be there at #64 and I'm not sure either would upgrade the backfield enough to warrant a 2nd round pick.

Starks looks like he's "for real".
Grant, well, i think he has something to prove. I think he will come out and give his best to the team.
Him and Starks, a good "one-two" punch.
