6.5 million for a back getting 1200 yards doesn't bother me. Up until last year Grant had the second most yards over the past couple years, only behind Adrian Peterson. If he hadn't missed last year I doubt we'd be having this discussion. People talking about cutting him due to his contract is shocking. We all saw the dropoff we had last year after he went down.

What if he gets 1,250 yards and gets the incentives below?

$1.75 million roster bonus (March)
$3.5 million base salary
$500,000 active roster bonus
$250,000 off-season workout bonus (questionable)
$1.5 million for 1,250 rushing yards
$500,000 for being in the top 5 in the NFC
$250,000 for making the Pro Bowl.

1,250 being top 5 in the NFC isn't a far stretch, the 5th ranked rusher had 1,080 in '10. If he gets 1,250, top 5 he'd get 8 million and if he makes the pro bowl, add in another 250k.

6.5 for 1,250 yards, back up or not, yes that I can reason with saying it's worth it.

I don't think he'll break 1,000 so I think he'll get 5.75 million, the top three digits and he'll get between 600 and 850 yards with 4 to 6 scores.

But if he breaks 1,000 ... thats when the incentives start kicking in for him, especially if he once again hit's 1,250 or more.

Nothing personal, although I'll trust my own addition over any writer

Well I'm not a writer (other than blogs) so clearly it's not personal... and I open have said some of the writers plain and simple don't know what they're talking about. They have an English degree... doesn't mean they know a dang thing about football more than the average person... and sometimes the writers seem to know less than the average fan.

Why haven't more writers played college football? Some following NFL have never put on pads or down any physical sport... Do you need to? No... but it does help if you have a background in the subject...

So I don't blame you at all... and you could be right... but I'm feeling too lazy to look it up as I don't feel their a chance he's going anywhere before the next season... so he's going to try to play... and the Packers are going to pay what ever he's contact says...
