Was just wondering what these two we're thinking / feeling when they watched us win the SB.

It saddens me to see those two players not in the winning roster. Specially, right after Harris was cut and Kampman was traded the year ago.

* Edit: It probably wouldn't sadden me if it was 2-3 years after they had left.

I guess the point I am making is... If Harris, Kampman, and him were on the roster... The Packers would have not won it all.

It is a good post. I understand how you are thinking... But if the Packers did not move on in many, many ways there would have not even been a FOURTH SUPERBOWL CHAMPIONSHIP.

Five years ago, Five months ago, or five minutes ago.... There can be no growth without change. There can be no change without growth.

There will be cuts this year and there will be a new roster. CHANGE, It is a damn good thing.

I suggest you learn to like compensatory picks like Josh Sitton.

Most players in that situation say that they are happy for their former teammates, many of whom they consider to be friends. I think that's true, but it's probably not the whole truth. There must be that feeling of "what might have been"--that things didn't turn out the way they could have. On the other hand, I think most of these guys are pretty resilient and don't dwell on it too much.

AK and AH were probably happy for us - they were both big enough men to avoid any bitterness.

I KNOW what Brent was thinking...

While I feel for them. They know it is a business. I am certain they feel that they could have contributed to the victory. They just didn't have a vote in the matter.

How could they have contributed to the victory? Our defense improved without them, and they both ended back up on IR this year.

Some of the best decisions Ted Thompson made was letting those two go.

This thread is quickly becoming "Random Babble" material.

Is it time for the draft yet?

It ain't like Al, Aaron, and Brent weren't handsomely compensated for their services to the GBP. This championship is/was/and always will be about our young fire pissers, Uncle Ted, and MM. Nostalgia is overated.

Wow, that's harsh. If healthy, they both could've been contributors, though there's no way to be sure of course. Are you somehow interpreting wpr's comment as a criticism of Ted Thompson, or a lack of appreciation for the job he's done? Because I don't see it at all.

DakotaT has also missed the point. I don't see any problem with thinking about some of the good players who are now gone. If you think these guys are in it solely for the money, you're wrong. They do want to win.
