Williams and Bishop got deals, but then they are on the right side of 30 aren't they? I'm wondering when Rodgers feels he's underpaid?

Bye Bye Cullen. Enjoy the overpaid contract you are about to sign with Washington or Dallas. You were a very good Packer and congratulations on helping win the title. Your replacements are already on the team and we will survive just fine without you.

They got deals that went against the '10 salary cap, I think that's a big difference. Cullen was injured for nearly a half dozen games.

Edit, finally I agree with the Vikings on something "Vikes will address Adrian Petersons contract once CBA is resolved"

We have to lock up Clay, Raji, and Finley in the near future. It's usually better to spend money on younger players.

Cullen was a fantastic player for us for a lot of years. He's the prototype for the saying that hardwork pays off, moving from an undrafted player to one of the best d-linemen in the league. I think he has peaked performance-wise, and his injuries seems likely to recur.

I hope he finds the contract he is looking for. I'll always root for him. Sad he's got this animosity toward GB, but in title town, business is business (Go ask Brett.)

How can any NFL Player be offended at a lack of contract right now? There's no damn CBA to base the new contract off of. You do a contract now, it's pretty stupid because you don't know the future of the salary cap or anything like that.

If the Packers intended on signing him, I'm sure they'd have contact with him saying, hey once the CBA details are finalized, we'll start talking contract.

Have the Packers spoke to any current player about a contract? I'd assume some lower salaried players, but players whom would demand a higher payroll, not likely.

This. Thompson is obviously taking a wait and see approach to free agency because of the impact of the CBA. He wants to know what's going to change first before he start's negotiation. The Packers owe Hawk a huge bonus on the day free agency starts which would normally be March 3rd (I believe). In an normal season Ted Thompson would have addressed Hawk's contract ages ago, but because of the CBA he wants to wait and see.

As most have said Cullen played great while here and though he may not feel appreciated (just taking from his quotes) he was VERY appreciated by the fans.

Its all about business and if you have a 30 year old that has been on the plus side of injuries, asking for more money....WITH good players sitting behind you, you just aren't going to get that contract.

Go somewhere you are needed and receive your big pay day, it will make you forget all about the Packers.

IF the CBA is not signed before August there will be no Free Agency, OTA's, etc., The number of practices and pre-season games will be shortened and most FA's will more than likely sign one year deals with their current teams.

This, of course, is just one scenario but it's why GM's aren't making any big moves until the CBA is back in place.

Jenkins may have one foot out the door but when the CBA get's completed will determine which way that door swings for him.

One of the consequences of having a lot of talent on your team - deciding which ones to keep. The Packers are doing Jenkins a favor by not making an offer because the amount they would offer would probably be an insult. He'll do much better on the open market. They did right by him four years ago giving him $16M.

I still don't get this.

How does "all but over" mean exactly the opposite of what it actually states? That makes absolutely no sense.

Honestly I'm very disappointed if he's not going to be back next season I really liked him. And I'm a bit surprised a deal didn't get done because next to Clay, Jenkins is clearly the best pass rusher on the team.

Then again I don't know what Jenkins and his agent are asking for. But I think I'd offer them a deal based on can he stay healthy and he's stat numbers.

The numbers do show Matthews does a heck of a lot better when Jenkins starts. I think I've heard Matthews sack numbers are almost doubled with Jenkins starting than when he doesn't and that was with Matthews missing a game that Jenkins started.

The Packers are gonna need to find another pass rusher if Jenkins isn't back. Matthews is very good to great but he can't do it all alone...

TheKanataThrilla (5-Feb) : This is the least excited I have been in a long time for a Super Bowl. Unfortunately they both can't lose.

Zero2Cool (5-Feb) : She dating the TE of the Chiefs.
