This I never heard of.

On a point-after attempt, if the holder fumbles the football and the ball goes out of bounds in the defensive team's end zone, and a defensive player was the last to touch the ball, the kicking team is rewarded one point. The same rule applies during a 2-point conversion, with the team attempting the conversion awarded one point if the ball goes out of bounds through the end zone after touching a defensive player.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be πŸ™‚ (PS, Zero should charge for this)

only one NFL team with more than one Super Bowl win is still undefeated in Super Bowl play. Name that team.

As to the other question about roman numerals. I thought it was 3 I mean III but I am not sure.

This I found and thought it was bs but now I found another one about it.

Snap Goes Between Quarterback's Legs
# If the snap goes between the quarterback's legs, the ball is ruled dead if the quarterback does not pick it up. If another player picks it up, a false start penalty is given to the offense. It is not a fumble that can be returned by the defense.

Here is the last time it was called.

The Bears and Philadelphia Eagles were tied at 9 early in the fourth quarter at Lincoln Financial Field when Chicago quarterback Brian Griese had a snap by center Olin Kreutz go through his legs, untouched by Griese. The ball rolled behind the quarterback and was picked up by Eagles safety Sean Considine, whose return put his team in position for a go-ahead touchdown.
But referee Ed Hochuli immediately whistled the play dead and called a false start on the Bears, who retained possession of the ball near midfield. The Bears ended that drive with a field goal and went on to win the game, 19-16, to improve their record to 3-4 and retain some realistic hopes of making a run to the playoffs. Hochuli explained that, by rule, if the quarterback is under center and has a snap go through his legs and the ball is picked up behind the quarterback by another player, the play is dead and it's a false start penalty on the offense.
The ruling was affirmed by officiating supervisor Art McNalley, who was in the press box at Lincoln Financial Field.

"If the ball is snapped in between the quarterback's legs, he has to be the one to get the ball," McNalley told a pool reporter. "Under these circumstances, it has to be ruled a false start. If he's in shotgun and the [ball] is snapped over his head, [it's a] clean play. Pick it up. Go ahead and go the other way. Everything's fine. The fact that he's taking the snap direct from the center [and the ball] goes through his legs, [the referee has] got to kill it right away, false start."

Now that is strange
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be πŸ™‚ (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Giants: Sims,Hostetler (I had to look him up) little Manning.
I was certain the Raiders were too. I forgot Pluckett had 2 wins.

The Vikings- Oh wait, Never mind. :onfloor:

Very good. I completely overlooked the Giants. My next guess would've been Raiders. Funny that Plunkett doesn't get a lot of credit for winning two Super Bowls. Not that he necessarily deserves it, but usually everyone makes a bigger deal out of a QB winning two Super Bowls (Ben R., for example).

Actually, Super Bowl V was the first to be designated with a Roman numeral.

Good job on identifying the Giants and Redskins as the other two teams with three Super Bowl winning quarterbacks.

That rule on going out of bounds on a point-after kick blows me away. How many times has that happened in the history of the game, and who envisioned that rule?

I was thinking the same about Plunkett. He doesn't get much credit these days. I just looked up his stats for the two games. 13/21 261 yards 3 Td 0 Int. 16/25 172 1 Td 0 Int. Not too bad. Both games they were underdogs. Yes they had Allen who ran for 190 in the second game but Jim did what needed to be done to win.

Incidentally I was expecting someone to mention the Raiders were in LA when they won their last SB. Which is why I said "Raiders" and not "Oakland" but since Nonstop used the word "team" I think this qualifies.

I think it qualifies too, but it raises an interesting question. Do the Ravens count as the Browns? Though the name and colors stayed in Cleveland, the history and lineage (including championships, etc.) went with them to Baltimore.

No. I was watching the NFL channel a couple of nights ago. Cleveland went to court to sue to block the move and in the settlement. (Out of court but in the commissioners office I believe) the team got to move but the name, team colors and records all remained in Cleveland. The Commish agreed to place the next expansion team in Cleveland.
