Ever since Aaron Rodgers has become the starter for GB look at the point differential when he loses! He has pretty much out-played every QB he plays against - look it up!

In 2008, the average margin of defeat was 6.3 points, a number that was skewed upward by the 22-point drubbing at the hands of New Orleans.

In 2009, the average margin of defeat was 7.4 points.

In 2010, the average margin of defeat was 3.3333 points.

The overall regular-season margin of defeat in the Aaron Rodgers era has been 5.71 points.

I said it before any of you, by the way.

Maybe, but I remember spending hours culling through stats on January 1, 2009 detailing just how amazing Rodgers' first season had been in its historical context. So I'm hardly a johnny-come-lately. :P

I do specifically remember you were one of the FEW people defending me when I was hyping Aaron.

An additional point, QBs get way too much credit for team wins.

Without our defense, we don't even make the playoffs.

Agreed. After doing lots of research, I've found that in order, the most important things are:

1. Elite D
2. Elite QB

Elite RBs are nice to have, but don't even make the list as they don't affect how good the team is whatsoever, to the point that I wouldn't spend money on an elite RB.

Thus is why I've been saying spend money on D and your QB, but you could throw anyone back there as a RB and it DOESN'T MATTER. I think by saying that, I've managed to piss off half this site. The stats speak for themselves though.

I put up a list about a month ago with SB winners, how almost every single SB winner had a top 5 D.

Yep that Collins pick 6 and fumble cause by Mathews were huge, and every game we played since the regular season Chicago game ended in a defensive stand.

how they all ended....

Week 17 - Collins pick

Philly - Tramon Williams pick

Falcons - Williams pick before half kinda sealed the falcons fate

Bears - The raji pick 6, and ends with a shields pick

SB - Defensive stand on 4th and 5

Man our Defense was outstanding this year.

I have not been on this forum for all that long so you will have to take my word for it (a dodgy proposition at best) when I tell you, in early '08 I was saying that Rodgers will be one of the best ever and will make Favre a trivia question. "Who was that one guy who played between Rodgers and Starr. He played for like 30 years or something. He had a funny name too."

I thought he was ready to start in '07. I thought the Cowboy game where he outplayed Favre showed that. Maybe we would have beaten the Giants, because Rodgers doesn't throw it up for grabs nearly as much.

Rodgers was under-rated for a while, and now he may be a little overrated. There are stretches during games where he disappears, or times when we can clinch the game where he (and the offense) can't get points.

I see what he means. Rodgers sometimes struggles to get the offense going and make an off-target throw. The game against the Jets was a great example. Or just a drive or two, three in other games.

Thing is... Tom Brady has this, Peyton Manning has this, Montana used to have this, Bart Starr used to have this...

There's not a single QB, not a single football player, who's always on top of his game. Next to that, sometimes the defense just makes a play. There's a reason why a 65% completion rate is extremely high and a 100% one is unheared off.

All post-season I have heard people giving some love to Aaron. I think he is beginning to get his due.

Behind a bad O-line, I would take Kitna over Brady. Kitna can at least take a punch like a man.

"Dexter_Sinister" wrote:

Is this a joke? If so, you'll have to explain it to me. Jon Kitna is a below average QB who everyone seems to like, I think because they feel sorry for him. But even aside from that, why is Tom Brady unable to "take a punch like a man"? Did I miss something? Did Brady get hit hard and cry or something?
