How would you feel - you helped get them that far, but couldn't finish the deal? Do they hold some kind of feeling deep down that they won it on the backs of their teammates?

I'm curious to hear what you think. I am so happy for both of them - I guess as a fan I felt a little cheated, not through any fault of their own, but I wanted to see them both play their hearts out on that stage for the full game, and make great plays in the biggest game of their life.

I felt pretty bad for them, that they couldn't finish, especially Driver. Will this help motivate them next year? Will they have any qualms about calling themselves champions, and proudly wearing that ring?

Cheated is an interesting word, but I understand what you mean. I think that since the first half was 21-10, and the second half was 10-15, Driver and Woodson can appreciate that they played very important roles in the first half and helped solidify the win. I'm sure they aren't real happy that they were unable to finish the game, but really, without them, we probably wouldn't have even had the opportunity to win another Lombardi. They just need to remind themselves of that.

It was a bummer, but judging by their reactions after the game, I don't think their injuries spoiled the championship for them. By that point I think they were so bonded with their teammates that they felt like they were a part of the action, even standing on the sidelines cheering.

Well it's not like they came up lame in practice or something, Driver got injured after making a couple catches including a first down and Woody went out after making a TD saving knock down, can't go out much better than that if you have to leave early!

I don't think so. Both were important parts of not only the SB, but the entire season.
Had the Packers lost, THEN i bet they would feel bad. They would probably be blaming themselves for the loss.
But the win saved all that!

You're right Cheesey, they would've been sick, sick, sick, if the Packers had lost. They never would've gotten over it.

I don't think they feel cheated. Disappointed they could not contribute on the field in the 2nd half.

If not for DD or Wood the Pack wouldn't have even been there.

End of story.

I agree with Twinkiegorilla.

You might as well ask the same question about every non-starter who remained on the sidelines or saw limited action in the game.
