I'll be the first to admit, at least on the field, Al Harris didn't do much if anything to help win this team a championship this past season.
That being said however, I do feel he deserves a ring as much as any of the other guys who wound up on IR.
- He was stilll around rehabbing and practicing with the team for a few weeks up until the last day to where the team had to make a decision on whether to cut him or activate him all the while under contract and getting paid his 2010 salary.
- He was a veteran leader and probably mentor to a lot of our younger guys, especially Tramon Williams. Getting to play behind both Woodson and Harris for a few years probably really helped Tramon develop into the CB he is now.
- The guy is a class act through and through. His thank you to fans in the WI newspapers was proof of that after he was cut.
While never on the field in a meaningful game this season, there is little doubt he had a lot of impact shaping the defense and secondary to allow them to get them to this point. I'd have no problem with the team giving him a Super Bowl ring because of the impact his tenure in GB had on the team even though he never technically saw the field in '10 for the Packers.
